Oh crap! I screwed up big time.

Elphie, I'm so sorry, I meant to post questions for you over the weekend and I forgot.

(A very belated) Congrats to you! re: Message Board Celebrity Of The Day (Part III) - CapnHook

When you get a chance, here's a few questions for you.

If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?

What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?

What's something that we would be surprised to learn about you?

If your house were on fire, what would you grab on the way out?

If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?

What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?

What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? That you were given?

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Thanks, shameless!

I don't want to steal Capn's thunder, but as he's not yet available, I guess I can answer your questions for me. re: Message Board Celebrity Of The Day (Part III) - CapnHook

If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
My friends, I guess. They are amusing. Harry Potter would be cool too.

What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
Getting to know so many wonderful people through this site, and actually learning in school.

What's something that we would be surprised to learn about you?
I speak Yiddish. I have a strange bone bump on my thumb that just appeared one day and I don't know how/why it is there.

If your house were on fire, what would you grab on the way out?
My little sister.

If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
This person would say that I am sweet and shy at first, but once you get to know me, I've got a really crazy (in a good way) side. I'm very caring and emotional, and I'm a good friend. This would be pretty accurate.

What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
I'd love to be an astronaut.

What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? That you were given?
I don't know; I don't give very good gifts, usually. Okay, well, today I gave two of my teachers gifts. I gave my theatre teacher a mix of some of my favorite Broadway songs, which he was really excited about. I gave my statistics teacher a mug (which wasn't really a good gift at all) and a letter. When I went back to the classroom later, another teacher said my teacher was crying when I left. So, I guess that's good? I also gave one of my friends a really coll rainbow feathered fan for her birthday. My sister got my a RENT movie poster for my birthday, which was sweet. I'm blanking on other ones.
Wow, that was a long answer.

One of my favorite posters for the past two years. I just want to jump in here, and say you're ascendency to this title is overdue. I remember your earliest savvy ruminations on myriad topics, from the new Peter Pan film (at the time) and Rosie O'Donnell. Keep on ruminating...

Alright, Johnny.

Outside of the kick ass and chew bubblegum line, what is the best line from "They Live?"

Congrats John! If I had to be eliminated at least it was in favor of you! Enjoy your day at the top!

re: Message Board Celebrity Of The Day (Part III) - JohnPopa

OK, answering as I go ...

So, how was the Passion of the Popa? To those who have not read about it for the past month or so, WHAT was it?

POPAPALOOZA 2006: The Passion of The Popa was my birthday bash which was this past Saturday. I realized a few years back that after you turn 21 no one gives two squirts about your birthday so I decided, starting when I turned 30 that I was going to spend the entire year building up my birthday into something memorable. So I besiege my friends on email and wherever with monthly, quarterly and daily reminders of my impending birth celebration, all culminating with me parking at a local watering hole and letting everyone come to me and buy me booze.

And this year I got especially plastered and had a good old time.

What is the best thing about being a straight guy on bww?

The girls are HOT and I already know they love theater!

The worst?

Knowing that any 'hottest celebrity' thread will skew heavily toward beefcake re: Message Board Celebrity Of The Day (Part III) - JohnPopa

What do you like about this uh great state we live in?

That we're only a seven hour drive from Toronto, Chicago, NYC, Charlotte ... I don't mean that as negatively as it sounds, I really dig that I can get to so many places in a half day's ride.

What DONT you like about this hell hole of a state we live in?

Winter. Seriously, I'm over it.

Favorite theater memory?

From seeing a show -- Bat Boy off-Broadway, I just thought it was the most perfectly bizarre evening of theater imaginable.

From a show I was in: The third year I Narrated Rocky Horror, the show had become a really huge Halloween deal for all the local high school kids and my foul-mouthed opening riffs were pretty popular. We did a midnight show on Halloween that was populated almost entirely with drunken kids out to be as rowdy as possible -- and when the spotlights hit me to get the show started, before I could even speak, they all started chanting my name .. seriously, for that brief moment, I felt like a rock star.

Calvin, I'll have to think about your questions for a bit re: Message Board Celebrity Of The Day (Part III) - JohnPopa

What's your Starbucks order?

I don't go to Starbucks. I don't even drink coffee. I'm a Coke drinker.

What's your favorite ice cream?

Mint Chocolate Chip is my favorite flavor. Brands I don't know so well -- whatever's on sale!
