That's great! I hope to read a review of the show in Seattle.

So you look more for a love story?
Not necesarily for a love story, but i do enjoy a romantic musical. I, for example loved Festen, Doubt, Streetcar, and they didn't have a love story.
I feel bad that i never check this thread, until i was named celebrity of the day myself. I will try to check it once in awhile and ask some questions...and I have a lot to ask!

I am trying to understand where you are coming from.
What did DRS and The Producers not have that The Wedding Singer did?
I disliked DRS because these cons steal from lonely women and that shouldn't be funny. I didn't like the score either. I saw the original cast, it didn't thrill me, like i did when i saw Drowsy and Sweeney, i had big expectations.
The Producers seemed just silly. I don't like the score either. I hated Hitler mentioned on a "funny musical" too, but i know the entire thing is just a joke. It didn't work for me. The movie was a little funnier i thought, still not my cup of tea.
Oh, and to talk about The Wedding Singer, it had a lot of 1980's cliches, but the entire motive of the musical is not just being funny(IMO) it has a heart. Plus the musical numbers are just amazing, Saturday Night in the City was phenomenal, so was Not That Kind of Thing. It was just a heartwarming musical. More like Wonderful Town or Sweet Charity, it was just cute, about love. I didn't connect to anyone in DRS or Drowsy or Producers, in TWS i wanted everything to work out for Robbie and Julia and each character had a story that engaged me and i wanted to know how it was going to end. I love the music and the dancing in this show. This show just makes me happy, I don't think it's a good show, I just think that compared the other new musicals, it's the best new musical of this season.

What about Jersey Boys?
And do you like Avenue Q?
I enjoyed Jersey Boys, It was more of a concert, but i think it was a good show. The guy that won the Tony was the standout. John something.
Avenue Q was not my kind of show, It was clever and funny, but i am not into puppets. I think it is a great Off Broadway show.

You think Wedding Singer should have gotten the Tony over Jersey Boys?
What do you think about:
Spelling Bee
Light in the Piazza
The Pajama Game
The Color Purple
Tarzan
neddyfrank, you rock! you're the only one asking me questions on here.
You think Wedding Singer should have gotten the Tony over Jersey Boys?
-I don't know if i "think" it should have gotten the Tony. I would have loved it. It is such a cute "feel-good" show. It has a heart. It deserved a Tony, just because this was a terrible season, i am very greatful it got a nomination for best musical and the for the 4 other nods.
What do you think about:
Spelling Bee
-Great show! very cute, somehow i feel like it belongs to Off Broadway, Im very glad i saw it.
Light in the Piazza
-It was an amazing show, I think the company made HUGE mistakes with the casting. I think the show would have been perfect with Patti Cohenour, Kelli O'Hara and Matt Morrison. The replacement for Clara was just awful, I don't even want to mention the poor girl, it wasn't her fault, horrible casting. I felt embarrassed seeing this "amateurish" girl next to a seasoned professional like Sarah Uriarte sharing the same stage.
The Pajama Game
-Fluff, I don't get the hype.
The Color Purple
-I think the book is a masterpiece, I am very familiar with the movie, which is "perfect", I guess anything i compare it to, would be crap. I thought the musical was underwhelming.
Tarzan
-I had very few expectations, I disliked B&B and The Lion King was painful to watch for me, so Disney musicals don't make me excited, i did love Aida though, Tarzan was a surprise, not a good show, but it was good entertainment. Jenn Gambatese is a goddess, and I love Merle from Rent, unfortunatly she doesn't sing "belty" songs in Tarzan.

You did't like Victoria Clark?
What about Chicago and The History Boys?
I liked Victoria Clark. I preferred Patti a hundred times though. But Victoria is a great singer.
Chicago is fabulous!
History Boys, I didn't get it, i couldn't hear well from the back of the orchestra, the accent was too heavy. But what i did get, didn't thrill me. Frank, did you see Bombay Dreams? What are your favorite 5 shows? and your least favorite 5?

Why do you change your Avatar so much?
How many times have you seen Laura and how many times Tina?
Who do you prefer?
Does the cast know you?
I feel bad doing this but it's 10:00 and this thread seems to have died.

Fabrizio: Will you forgive me for being a jerk to you?
-Yeah, I don't even remember how you were a jerk to me. But why was there such a big attitude change?
Also, I know if i am a celebrity of the day, I have to nominate someone for tomorrow, so Dancingthrulife04 deserves it after being on BWW for so long and remain "drama-free"!!!
Will you continually bump it if it gets too far down the page?

What was your first Broadway show? What was that experience like?
Thanks Dottie.
What was your first Broadway show? What was that experience like?
My first Broadway show was RENT, last January. My mom had gotten me the tickets as a present for my 16th birthday. I had really never been to any shows before that at all, except for the few I was in. It was such an incredible experience. It's something I still can't really explain. I loved it, and I was hooked after that.
