PalJoey:
"Explain to me this Patti LuPone!"
and
"Brooke Shields...now THERE is a STAR!"
Question for you: Who is your all-time favorite diva and what is your all-time favorite diva song?
Ok, I think Patti Lupone is very talented, she is great. A great singer. Brooke Shields is more famous than Lupone, the musical theatre community is not as big as Hollywood. Brooke is drop dead gorgeous and one of the most famous women in the world. She decided to show everyone, including herself, that she has talent, and she did. Also, I always admire Hollywood stars who choose to do Broadway, they obviously don't do it for the money. She is also a very nice person to her fans. My all time favorite diva? I'd have to say Liza Minnelli. She is unique and fabulous. My all time favorite diva song? Ouch, no clue. I'd say "Le Jazz Hot" by Julie Andrews.
One more: Do you know that you rock?

What is your favorite song from The Wedding Singer?
-Right in Front of your Eyes
If aliens landed on your front steps and knocked on your door, what would you do?
-I probably wouldn't open the door if i know
If a movie was made about your life, who would play you?
-Joey Lawrence or Mark Whalberg, I want a hot guy to play "me"
What's your favorite color?
-Purple
If you could time travel, where would you go?
-Always NYC, what can i say?
Calvin:
What was your most memorable birthday?
And is that crazy, didactic, toupee-wearing preacher who has that huge church in Fort Lauderdale (Coral Ridge or something like that) still there, or did Hurricane Wilma blow him away last year?
I've had many memorable birthdays, it's great to be with your loved ones, a great celebration, it's good to throw a party, so all your friends remember to call you and all that. One time a friend of mine bought a little cake and put a candle on top. It was very sweet. It was like a muffin, very low budget, but i loved the gesture.
Calvin, I wouldn't be caught dead at a church! EVER!!! I hardly get up early on Sundays anyways.
Kissmycookie:
What is your ideal meal? What is your favourite comfort food dish?
-I love Sushi and a good cosmopolitan. Is that a good answer?
Thanks for the good wishes everyone!

My question for Muscle
Will you forgive me for being a jerk to you?
Fabrizio: Will you forgive me for being a jerk to you?
-Yeah, I don't even remember how you were a jerk to me. But why was there such a big attitude change?
Also, I know if i am a celebrity of the day, I have to nominate someone for tomorrow, so Dancingthrulife04 deserves it after being on BWW for so long and remain "drama-free"!!!
Thanks!
Yay congratulations! =)
What is your favorite Amy Spanger song?
If you could chose one broadway performer to spend a day with, who would it be and what would you do?
Congratulations muscle!
If you could change one thing in your past, what would it be?
In my past, I'd change the fact i lost some of my pix from my childhood and the fact i have been irresponsable a few times, which i am not anymore, i also hurt some of my classmates, but when you're a kid, you don't know any better. If I could change one thing not about myself, I'd probably would want the 9-11 incident never to occur and President Bush never to win the elections.
Congrats, Muscle! I'll be seeing your favorite show - Bombay Dreams - when it hits my town next week!
That's great! I'll be seeing it in Atlanta as well!
What day are you seeing it?
I'll be seeing the show next Thursday, Muscle.
That's great, make sure you post a review on my thread...expect a lot of fun! Im seeing it on Friday and Sunday.
Hey, muscle, congrats on your new-found celebrity status! You're the only deserving friend of my short come-back to the board...
So my questions are:
Who would you choose between Donna Murphy, Bernadette Peters, Chita Rivera, Elaine Stritch, and Carol Channing as the best performer? (LOL, I know you hate them all and I love them all but just pick one)
Who do you think should replace Amy Spanger after her contract is up (and if she decides not to renew) on The Wedding Singer?
Who do you consider the next Liza: Brooke Shields, Ruthie Henshall, Amy Spanger or Maria Friedman? (I know you love them all so I had to make it a hard choice for you)
Congrats again, muscle...
Haha! I don't "hate" them, haha, but I can't pick one. I'd say Chita because she can at least dance, and she is the only one I've met in person, but nah, I can't pick anyone of them.
-I'd say Jenn Gambatese could replace Amy Spanger in The Wedding Singer, I don't know if she can dance though.
-Mmmm, I'd say they are all in very different places, Brooke is the most famous of them all, so her fame is as big as Liza's, Ruthie sounds like Liza sometimes, but she is not a household name in the USA, both Maria and Ruthie are "British Lizas"
The best dancer among those four are probably Ruthie and Amy. If I have to pick one, I'll go with Amy Spanger. She can become as iconic as Liza, but she is not famous yet either.
Im flattered about your return to BWW just to ask me this questions!!! hehe.
Congrats, muscle! We met in Feb and you were very kind! Enjoy your day!

OY I am behind.
First of all, Congrats Withoutatrace for your special day. The world truely needs passionate theater lovers like yourself.
And speaking of passionate: Muscle! Yay for your day too.
Big question (and serious one too). Why the particular passion for "Bombay Dreams?" Describe your feelings about it, your unwavering love for the show and tell us about the very first time you saw it. Muahz!
Ok, I had zero and I mean zero, desire to see Bombay Dreams, I was like "Why is this show even open?" No one seemed to want to see it, and I am not into anything Indian or Asian i must say, except for chinese food and sushi.
I wanted to see Wicked. Wicked and Bombay Dreams were the only shows on Broadway yet left to see for me. My prior ALW shows were less than enjoyable. Phantom was a sleeper, Cats was just a mess and Sunset Blvd. a let down too.
So anyways, Wicked was sold out as usual and i didn't want to waste my matinee, so i went to see Bombay Dreams alone, and i couldn't believe how much fun i was having, i remember a lot of dancing i seemed to remember about Madonna's Frozen videos, and i found Indian women to be very refined and classy. If Madonna does it, it gets worshipped, but if you see it from the actual Indian people who created that, it gets bad reviews!
I had so much fun seeing that show, so i just really want people to go and experience it, because for whatever reason people don't feel desire to see this show, and it was really mind blowing.
Go to see the show!!! =) Even if it's not your favorite, it will be very different from everything you've seen before.

What are you thoughts on Wicked?
Why didn't you like The Drowsy Chaperone and Sweeney Todd?
When you go to the theater do you only look for fun?
Congrats muscle!
I'm seeing Bombay Dreams in September in Seattle.
What are you thoughts on Wicked?
-I think it's a good show. It is a brilliant idea, American people are very familiar with the story of The Wizard of Oz and they buy that. I don't get the hype, it's a good show, but not even in my top 10.
Why didn't you like The Drowsy Chaperone and Sweeney Todd?
-I was sure I'd love Drowsy, because i like Sutton and i love period shows, but at the same time the show seemed offensive to me. Bob Martin(i think that's his name), plays this gay guy which is a total stereotype of what "musical queens" are supposed to be. I don't think i act like him at all. It frustrated me. Also the Lestat joke was a cheap shot. It's people losing their jobs...very bad taste, also i usually dislike "funny" musicals, i didn't enjoy DRS or The Producers, or Spamalot. I find them tacky, maybe they would work as a film, but why add music to a story with no depth? Before the show started "I hope i am not wasting my time or money by coming to see this" the narrator says, some people laughed, i didn't because i do think that same thing every time i go to the theatre, luckily i just wasted my time that night, because i had comps. Thanks D!
Sweeney Todd was just boring and i felt it was disgusting, just gross. I don't like the music. Everyone was getting killed one by one, it was too predictible. I didn't enjoy it, and yes, i say it despite the reaction of BWWers, because this is a free country and im entitled to say what i think, and i paid for my ticket! A lot of regular "non-BWWers" agree with me about Sweeney Todd. I was hoping to love Sweeney, because Patti Lupone was in it, and she is a fantastic singer.
When you go to the theater do you only look for fun?
No, I love to be entertained, but also i like theatre that makes me think. Just because i like Bombay Dreams, people think im into fluff, but the character of Priya in this show, is a girl, who instead of wanting to be a "stupid girl"(like P!nk says), is a film maker who wants to show the real people of Bombay, and not the glamour of Bollywood films.
The Wedding Singer is also fluff, but it has a beautiful love story behind it. My favorite musical is Kiss of the Spider Woman and im a big Rent fan, but it is easier to attack me and say i am a Bombay Dreams lover, because no one is familiar with the show and the name of the show sounds like it's a horrible show. It would have worked better with a different name probably.
