Congratulations to someone I look up to greatly and I wish I could sing half as well as her.

OK, so the board wasn't coming up for me for a while there... =(
DG - I totally understand the question, and believe it or not, I already feel I've achieved great success. From a really young age, I always told everyone around me that if I could one day support myself solely from acting/singing, I would consider myself a success, and I've been doing that for almost 5 years now. I'm very grateful and thrilled about that. However, I am always striving to go further. Of course I'd love to end up on Broadway, or to win a Tony or an Oscar. I'd be absolutely over the moon about it. But I'm really proud of where I am, as well. =)
As for how long I'm willing to strive for it, I just know I'm going to be one of those old ladies that you see on TV and in films, playing tiny roles, as the grandma or the victim or the funny bag lady or whatever. I really don't think I'll ever stop.

In the spirit of all that is pompus and overblown, I bring you a questionare which has been answered by many a celebrity here at the Actor's Studio. Created by Bernard Pivot, they are probably the most important questions ever posed by humanity.
1. What is your favorite word?
2. What is your least favorite word?
3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
4. What turns you off?
5. What is your favorite curse word?
6. What sound or noise do you love?
7. What sound or noise do you hate?
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. What profession would you not like to do?
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

Erika - I've been enjoying your answers all along, but you absolutely made my day with that one! It's exactly what I was hoping to read - and I hope I'll be sitting in a comfortable chair with my walker by my side watching your performance as the bag lady
That is one of my favorite things about Erika.
She would be a fabulous "bag lady" someday.
Erika: If you could win Ben Stein's money again, where would you next spend it?
Erika, I really loved that answer also. I have loved reading what you have had to say!

1. What is your favorite word? sforzando (Seriously, I love that word!)
2. What is your least favorite word? smegma (My friends and I used to try and gross each other out by yelling that at each other in 9th grade!)
3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Beauty. A beautiful melody, a beautiful line of dialogue, a beautiful painting, a beautiful poem, a beautiful sunset, a beautiful soul...
4. What turns you off? Meanness
5. What is your favorite curse word? Lately, I've been saying CRAP! a lot. A very mild word, but fun!
6. What sound or noise do you love? Radiohead. (That's a band.)
7. What sound or noise do you hate? Babies crying.
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Well, as I mentioned before, if I had the talent for it, I'd love to be a research scientist.
9. What profession would you not like to do? I think there's honor in all legitimate work, but I'd be a really bad ditch digger. (Not a lot of upper body strength.)
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? "You did good, kid."

DG and caitiesus1522: Awwwwwww...thanks so much! *blush*
kissmycookie: As I'm sure you know, the show is sadly no longer on the air, but if it came back and I could win again, I would probably spend it on another trip. I'd love to go to Budapest.
BSoBW2: Currently, I'd say "Sea of Tranquility." But I have so many!!
Erika Amato, you are one bitchin' chick. I had my suspicions before, but today has confirmed it. Rock on sistah, rock on.

Thanks, Kitzy! =)
Um, BSoBW2, are you having avatar issues?
Hi erica, if you've been following the thread, you know that I ask these to almost everyone, but if want to skip any or all, I won't be offended. Hope you're having a good time!
If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?

Thanks, shameless! Here ya go:
If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives? Well, I wouldn't really want her in the bed next to me, since that implies she's be recuperating or ill, but I'd have to say my best friend Kirsten. She makes me laugh, we can spend endless hours together without getting sick of one another, and she's just an all-around great person. We'd help each other feel better fast.
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try? Hang gliding. Seriously. I'd love to try that.
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be? They'd say I'm loyal, honest, energetic, smart, talk way too much, laugh a lot, have a big ol' goofy side, can be a bit too intense sometimes, can also be pretty anal-retentive and obsessive, but I'm very accepting of people, and I'm a great friend. And they'd be pretty accurate.
What’s the last “great” gift that you gave someone? That you were given? I love giving gifts! I like to think I've given a few "great" ones in the past... I guess the most recent one would be the Wine Master Deluxe I gave my dad for his B'day in February. Given? My husband gave me an amazing, modern-looking, sleek silver necklace for Valentine's Day that is hard to describe, but it's just so ME! I love the fact that he knows me so well.
Tell us something that you think we’d be surprised to know about you? I make really good ugly/funny faces. My best is probably the "Popeye Face," which I have been doing for my friends since 6th grade.
I won't throw another question at you, E. I just wanted to pop in again and give you some love on your day!
And, I'll post this:
<---Electrolyte Free
Erika,
Can you describe your childhood by comparing it to a well known TV show or movie? eg Leave it to Beaver, The Andy Griffith Show, The Brady Bunch, ..... To Kill A Mockingbird (lol)? Is there any out there that would give us an idea of what a day in little Erika's life was like?

Mamie, that is a really interesting question! You know, I think my family life was pretty much Father Knows Best, but my school life was like a Charlie Brown special. And I was a cross between Linus and Charlie. Oh! And high school was Square Pegs!
This is perfect....
In Esperanto (which means, "someone who hopes"), the word "amanto" means "someone who loves" and "amato" means "someone who is presently LOVED".. although, since the language has its formations in the 19th Century, it has patriarchal beginnings and in the purest would be amatino "a feminine someone who is presently loved"
Your life is a song... what style is it written in, what's the vocal range of the piece, if it contains vocals at all and how many instruments .... ?
Your body is a book.... what's its name?
Your mind is a painting.. how many colors and how long might I stand at the Louvre and wonder what it all means?
Erika - So glad to get to know you better by reading your awesome answers to everyone's questions. Your lifes sounds like it has been full of opportunities that you have taken full advantage of while keeping a good balance. Since your career is acting and singing, what do you like to do in your spare time for entertainment and relaxation and what was your favorite thing to do in Paris?
