Time to answer a few more questions, these were from NYadgirl:
1) What brought you to BWW?
I was a regular poster on Broadway.Com (in the days of FaithPrinceFan and Tamimi). When they were going to discontinue their message boards, I learned that Rob was starting this site. The rest is history.
2) What was your favorite book as a child?
HANS BRINKER. Interestingly enough, I just re-read it. I visited Holland last summer and after seeing a few images of Hans Brinker with his finger in the dike (note the spelling!), I had to go back and re-read the original novel as well as HANS BRINKER AND THE SILVER SKATES. I really enjoyed them the second time around.

Now for Shameless:
If you could live any time in history, what age would you choose?
Without a doubt it would be the Italian Renaissance. Why? I look good in tights.
If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
My fella. There's a great sense of communication between us and he's such a warm and loving guy that I'm sure it would speed my recovery. Besides, he's extremely nice to look at.
What were some of your childhood ambitions?
Yeah--getting out of Catholic school unscathed!
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
I have enough trouble sorting out the garbage that's in my own mind let alone trying to project what's in the minds of others. Let them perceive me any way they want. I live my life to please ME, not those around me. I know that sounds harsh, but we really can't be productive if we're worried about the way other people will think of us.
What?s something that you?ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
I'm 58 years old and can honestly say I tend to do what I want and when I want to do it. I've seen almost every country I've yearned to see. I've eaten the foods I've always wanted to try. Remember, "Life is a banquest and most poor sons of b1tches are starving to death!"
What is your favorite song from 'Hello, Dolly!"?

Now for Beacon:
Questions:
1. Favorite sandwich filling?
There's a sandwich shop in Piazza Santa Croce in Florence that makes incredible panini sandwiches. I especially love prociutto with fresh mozzerella and garden ripe plum tomatoes.
2. What will be your epitaph?
Simple: "So Long, Dearie!"
3. Favorite place in Europe?
Easy! The Grotto of Massabielle in Lourdes, France. It's where the Virgin Mary appeared 18 times to Bernadette Soubirous and revealed the spring which still flows and heals thousands of people weekly. I not only love praying there (I feel ever so much closer to Heaven when I do so), but I just love to be presnet there. It brings me great peace--especially when I'm there before the great throngs of pilgrims arrive.I am now a "Hospitalier" at the Shrine and spend a portion of each summer assisting the handicapped who flock there. My family knows that when my time comes to "shuffle off this mortal coil", I'd like to do so at the Grotto of Massabielle.
4. Favorite name for a boy? A girl?
We Catholics have the tradition of naming our children after favorite saints. Therefore my favorite name for a boy is "Kolbe" after St. Maximilian Kolbe. My favorite girl's name is "Bernadette", after the aforementioned Bernadette Soubirous.
5. Favorite performance by Patrick Wilson?
The first time I saw him perform. It was in the Encores! production of TENDERLOIN.
6. When you were a teen, favorite place to makeout?
On the loading dock of the local summer stock theater.
7. What was it like the first time you met Carol Channing?
I'd met her at stage doors, but the first REAL conversation I had with her was when she sat beside me at a performance at Lincoln Center. We chatted on as though we'd known each other for decades.
8. Favorite show this season?
Either TRYST or BAREFOOT IN THE PARK
9. If a Broadway entertainer were to croon you a tune, who
would it be and what would you want them to sing?
CAROL CHANNING. I'd love it when she sings "Hello, Dolly!" It's great when she does this in her nighclub act. The band strikes up the burlesque-like intro and Carol simply says, "Stairs" and proceeds to walk down them as if they were actually there.
10. What did you have for breakfast?
Coffee, grapefruit juice and shredded wheat.
Congratulations Dollypop! So well deserved.
Could you list your favourite Dolly Levi's , those that you have seen, and in the order you rate them please. (No guesses who will top the list!).

DollyPop.......what was the very first play you appeared in? Also, I have admired the way you have created a family for yourself. It is a beautiful story. What compelled you to do that?

"what is your ideal meal?"
Mussels marinara. In my family it's the "special holiday meal": Christmas Eve, birthdays, St. Joseph's Day and other festive occasions. My granddaughter will (finally) be getting Baptized and my son and I were running though the food we'll prepare for the reception afterwards. His comments were, "We've gotta have mussels. It wouldn't be a real celebration unless we had them!" (Like father, like son!)
What about my questions?
From one teacher to another, I give you a big congrats. Now, a few questions:
1. What advice would you give to younger teachers who are just entering the field?
2. What was your first Broadway show? Your most recent?
3. What are your vices?
4. Who are some of your favorite vocalists?
5. If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be and why?
6. What's your favorite thing to do on a rainy afternoon?
7. What is your favorite book of all time?
Congrats, my dear DollyPop.
Favorite and Least favorite Dolly Levi, and why...
(sorry if this was asked already, I don't want to scroll through everything)
Sorry I'm so late checking in! A belated congratulations to everyone I missed and current congrats to Dollypop! If ever there was a presence on this board, you are it!

Sorry that it's taken me so long to get back to this but I teach a college prep class on Saturday mornings, following that I had to stop by the church to get the altar set up and decorated for Palm Sunday. It looks wonderful..
Okay, now to Daydreamer:
I believe you asked a question about who I'd invite to dinner and what would I serve...
You didn't say how many people I could invite, so I'll go hog wild here--
Carol Channing because she's so incredibly astute (even at her age) and makes me laugh.
Patti LuPone because she, too, is astute and has a salty sense of humor. She also has an infectious laugh.
Patrick and Dagmara Wilson. He because he has intelligence and personal charm. She because she's about to give birth any minute now.
Eric McCormack because he's so damned good-looking and is a true sweetheart. He also enjoys a good time.
Bill Clinton. Another astute person and he has a great laugh. I'll have to seat him next to LuPone.
Jerry Herman because he's a warm and loving person. Besides, he'll play the piano at the drop of a hat and we'll have a sing-a-long after dinner.
Rick Domeier from QVC. He's really good-looking and has a whacky sense of humor. I must remember to seat him next to Carol Channing.
My pastor, Fr. Jerry Di Spigno. Not only does he embody the teachings of Christ, but he loves a good time.
Bob Woodruff from ABC News. He's another intelligent guy and breathtakingly handsome. Besides, at this point in his recovery he probably needs a night out. (We're going to have a medical team available for Mrs. Wilson, so they can look after Bob as well)
My son and daughter-in-law. A gathering like this would give us fodder for conversation for years!
Of course my fella will be invited. I'll seat him nest to the Wilsons. They seem to get along.
The menu? Let's see, I've got an Italian priest, and Italian diva, a Scottish sitcom star, A WASP/Black Broadway Legend, a Jewish songwriter, A German show host.....Oh hell, let's do this thing at a restaurant where everyone can order off the menu.

If you were building, any building/structure in the world, which one would you be and why?
I would love to re-design that damned "Pyramid" outside the Louvre Museum. Yes, it is extremely functional but it seems so inconguous in that spot! I'd like to create something that blends in better with the surroundings.

"All the best, Dollypop! Enjoy your weekend in the spotlight! Usual question: What's your favorite "comfort" read or music?"
comfort music: HELLO, DOLLY! the obc. It's always playing in my car and home. It's over 40 years and the music still delights me. It's seen me though some very bad times, I tell you!
In the spirit of all that is pompus and overblown, I bring you a questionare which has been answered by many a celebrity here at the Actor's Studio. Created by Bernard Pivot, they are probably the most important questions ever posed by humanity.
1. What is your favorite word?
2. What is your least favorite word?
3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
4. What turns you off?
5. What is your favorite curse word?
6. What sound or noise do you love?
7. What sound or noise do you hate?
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. What profession would you not like to do?
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

What is your favorite part of teaching?
At this point in my career, I don't have one. I hate my job with a passion. Earlier this month my car was stolen by one of our more illustrious students. (The police got it back for me within two days) Just yesterday I was hit in the head with a textbook that was hurled across the room at me because I wouldn't dismiss the class before the bell. To make matters worse, I received a letter of reprimand this week saying that I'd been spotted driving my car on a certain street 1/2 an hour before the end of the school day. Well, A) I don't drive on that particular street and B) I have four people who have signed statements that I was in the building well AFTER the end of the school day on that particular afternoon. I REALLY hate my job!
If you were marooned on an island, and only allowed 1 book, 1 opera, 1 type of junk food, and 1 broadway musical, what would they be.
Book: The King James Bible (love the language!)
Broadway Musical: Don't need it, the tunes from HELLO, DOLLY play in my head all day long.
Opera: LA BOHEME (de los Angeles/Beurling)
Junk food: I don't really eat junk food, so could I have a sack of navel oranges? I love 'em to bits
What was yenta REALLY like as a student? (hehehe)
The best Mrs Somes ever. She found great humor in the part and stole every scene she was in!

"If you were on a sinking ship with Carol Channing, Eric McCormack, Patrick Wilson and Loretta Swit, and there was only one lifeboat big enough for three of you, who would get in the boat?"
Only three in a boat, right?
My whole fetish with Loretta Swit is for laughs. These days she looks like Our Lady of Perpetual Botox. Therefore Carol Channing, Eric McCormmack and Patrick Wilson go into the boat.
I'm fat enough to float!

What's your Starbucks order? If you don't have one, what would you get if Starbucks was the only place to get a beverage or snack?
I don't frequent Starbucks all that often. I have had their gingerbread lattes and their chocolate mint lattes and I liked them very much. If it was the only place where I could get a bevererage or snack, I guess I'd lose weight.
What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate and Spumone

From Pattifan:
Question - who was YOUR favourite teacher and why?
At Dowling College I had a wonderful poetry professor. His name was Dr. Aaron Kramer. When I started teaching he came and did a workshop with my students and was very proud of me. We kept in touch until he passed away a few years ago.

"I'll make my question an easy one. How's the article coming along?"
The interview with Maxwell Caulfield was finished on Tuesday night.
Right now it's sitting in Mr. Caulfield's computer waiting for him to clarify a few "British-isms". He was a good person to interview and I think the article turned out well.
Thanks for asking.
