Hi! I am so late to the party on this (I was out and about and without internet access all day Thursday), but I'd still like to add a big CONGRATULATIONS to Stephen/Patronus!
In the immortal words of smartpeguin78, you ROCK!!!
Another cheer for the newest celeb. I raise my coffee mug to you sir! Enjoy your final hours.
Thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures, Patronus!
Hope you enjoyed your day! I loved reading all of your posts. Congratulations!
I'm a little late with this but, oh my God your cats are adorable! I already knew how lovely Anji is so no need to exclaim over that.
I hope you had a wonderful day, you truly deserve it.
sorry to be late, but wishing you congrats on your day. hope you had fun.
Thanks to all the tardy wellwishers.
I did have a great time yesterday. It was really a lot of fun.
Alright, my time in the sun here is winding down.
I'd like to katygrace84 for this wonderful day. It's been both fun and somewhat therapeutic for me. I didn't expect this at all, but it's been a blast. I hope I didn't bore you guys too much.
I'll be back with my selection for my successor in just a few minutes.
Jeez, way to leave us hanging! I've got my party horn and my tiara all ready, too.
Like others before me, I spent a lot of time thinking about who to name as MBCotD.
I also love the idea of selecting someone that I haven't really socialized with as the MBCotD. That was a hard decision for me because there are a handful of people that I am very friendly with that I think highly deserve this honor. However, I look at this as an opportunity to get to know things from interesting people that I don't already know about. So, if I know you...I love you, but I wanted to go another way.
The person I have chosen may be a bit of a surprising choice for some people, but he seems like a really nice and intelligent guy that we never get to see the "softer side" of.
As someone who used to be a moderator on a very large message board community I know how hard it is to sometimes allow myself to participate as "myself" and just have fun. It's a fine line to walk and more often than not a VERY thankless job.
So...without further adieu, I give you the new MBCotD....
Craig!
Take the weekend off and just be "one of the posters," Craig. You deserve it!

Wonderful! Have fun this weekend and don't be too heavy handed with that delete button
Aww, what a great idea! Congrats, Craig!
And, Patronus, how much fun to read some more about you! You're a swell guy.
Woo hoo!! A great big confetti toss!
Just wanted to add...thanks for spending the time that you do to make this a wonderful community! Without the moderating crew we'd have a lot of troll junk piling up and even though you get grumbles and complaints when people disagree with the hard decisions I think that a most people really appreciate what you do!
My first question is:
How did you become a moderator here on BWW?

oh, how perfect!
Congratulations, Craig! A very deserving Celebrity of the Weekend!
To the person who created this wonderful celebration of community, I raise my glass!
Outstanding!
Wow.. Just wow. As I have often posted, when I created this thread/idea I never thought it would be recieved and participated in so wonderfully. Having initiated the thread and chosen the very first MBCotD, I honestly never expected to be named - so I thank you Patronus from the bottom of my heart. I will do my best to not shame all those that came before me :) Be kind...
Let's have a caipirinha!
Addy, I do believe you should introduce Craig to the wonders of the cammy.
Let's get things rolling!
In the spirit of all that is pompus and overblown, I bring you a questionare which has been answered by many a celebrity here at the Actor's Studio. Created by Bernard Pivot, they are probably the most important questions ever posed by humanity.
1. What is your favorite word?
2. What is your least favorite word?
3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
4. What turns you off?
5. What is your favorite curse word?
6. What sound or noise do you love?
7. What sound or noise do you hate?
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. What profession would you not like to do?
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
More questions!!!
1) Favorite cookie
2) Favorite way to spend a rainy Saturday
3) Hero as a child
4) Favorite book
5) Comfort food
6) Martini, chocolate or non kiddie flavored
First let me say that I will do my best to answer questions as soon as possible. I happen to be on deadline with a few projects today - but rest assured, I will answer all the questions!
Patronus - The story can be long one - but in short I came across this website from a posting on another. I'll freely admit I didn't sign up right away because I hate spam and thought there was a small chance that the site was just collecting email addresses (since at the time it was really only the 1st (annual) fan choice awards. When the message board became active, I joined. Having been in the theater industry for over 15 years and having several friends in the industry as well, an opportunity presented itself to help promote a friend's new project. I offered a fully written interview for the site if Rob was willing to publish it, and publish it he did. Shortly thereafter, I was covering Broadway on Broadway for various reasons and offered pictures to Rob and the site. After several discussions about BWW, the direction it was headed, debugging some various glitches for Rob, he offered me the spot of Senior Editor which came with several responsibilities including being a moderator.
Being a moderator is a daunting task - especially on a (and several) message boards which have thousands of posts and members a day exchanging thoughts and ideas. I certainly don't work alone and I certainly do not read each and every thread and post. We all (the moderators) to the very best we can - and ALWAYS respond to concerns of our members here. I try to be just and fair to all parties involved. It's a "slippery slope" sometimes - but as I once realized early on in life - there are poeple what will like me and there are people that won't. If they don't like me, they don't like me and there's little point to spend energy and time worrying about it. I focus on more positive things.
And any you can't answer today, Craig, you've got the whole weekend to do so!
Congrats to you!!!
I don't think you hear it often enough. But thank you for doing a spectacular job as a moderator. And for having started this series of threads in the first place!
Tell us about your first memories of Corine2.
1. What is your favorite word? infinite
2. What is your least favorite word? hmmmm. perhaps HATE because it's often overused
3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? challenging myself with something new. I love puzzles in every form so when life hands me one, it gets that triumverate (sp?) going
4. What turns you off? people who don't respect or listen to other people's opinions. You may not agree with someone, but no one lives in a bubble and you should always absorbe another person's perspective.
5. What is your favorite curse word? F**K - because it can be used as any part of speech
6. What sound or noise do you love? My nephew or niece laughing
7. What sound or noise do you hate? Subway screeches
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Well I've been blessed in always doing what I want and love because I have the best of serveral worlds between BWW and my full time occupation. But since I love puzzles and mysteries - I guess a forensics detective.
9. What profession would you not like to do? I have the utmost respect for people who do the jobs I would never want to do. I would never want to work on the subway tracks. Or be a sanitation worker. I also think the guy that follows the elephant in the circle has a pretty crappy job :)
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? You shouldn't have been so hard on yourself. Your friends are family can't wait to see you!
Craig, a whole-hearted thank you for ALL you do to make BWW such a special place for us.
And, especially for starting this thread series. I love that it brings everyone together and that everyone has embraced it and supported it, and that we've all become better members of our BWW community because of it.
Three cheers for Craig!
