"if you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be and what questions would you ask them? "

Again there are a few. Even though my time with Jim Henson was brief - I would love to sit down with him and just talk. Not interview so much - but just talk. I would ask him things like where does HE find inspiration andhis creativity. I'd ask him several of these MBCotD questions!

I'd also love to talk to my grandfather as listed above.

There are several others who have fascinated me and I would love to talk to - not neccessarily interview - like Shakespeare, Socrates, Plato, Anne Frank, Einstein, the list goes on

Papa - laws in 28 countries prevent me from answering your question about thread deletions :)

Brdlwyr - I have absolutely no "background" in computer science other than I was a very early adopter and had my first computer (an Atari 800) when I was 12. My friend and I did a lot of programming in BASIC and even had a few programs published in COMPUTE magazine back in the day. From there, as I got older, I always embraced technology and was usually using a computer for either research, fun, video production, etc. In each job I've had, I have usually been responsible for the creation of everything from databases to full color brochures, ads, promotional materials, websites, etc. I'm completely self taught.

I performed up until high school in various musicals and plays and enjoyed it very much. The last performance I can recall was on the stage of Radio City Musical Hall a few years back. Don't get too excited tho - it was just a little soft shoe during a backstage tour :)

TGCY2 - See my previous entry on how I got started. What do I get out of it? It's very rewarding to be a part of what I consider the best and most comprehensive website dedicated to theater on the net. That's not just PR - I sincerely believe we fill a terrific niche.

As for putting up with Dollypop - he's always been nothing but nice and genuine to me. As with anyone who might rub someone the wrong way, you have several options - you can embrace their differences and accept them for who they are, or decide that it's not worth your time and effort.

What an absolutely FANTASTIC choice for MBCotD!!! I couldn't be happier - or more stymied. I keep trying to come up with cutsie little pics to suit the current title holder and this time I realized just how little I knew about you. Not only that, but reading your profile and blog and looking at the pics doesn't reveal much either. So I am REALLY looking forward to reading your answers this weekend.

My poor attempt to come up with a pic resulted from my always thinking of you as one of the two top dogs of BWW. So, the top dog award:

Patronus, Awesome choice..

Craig congrats!! For someone who gets to put up will all our insanity as well as walk the fine line between friend and enforcer I'm glad you are being honored. I'm surprised we haven't caused you to be put in a mental institution yet.. On to the questions!

What would be your ideal vacation.

Thanks Mamie. While I consider myself pretty upfront and honest - I do believe I limit my "exposure" online in general just because it lives forever and I can sometimes be a private person. In fact, it wasn't until Standing Ovation (the first one) that I even had my picture ANYWHERE on the internet. But I was (and am) so proud of the concert series I helped create and wanted to celebrate with everyone that I took that leap and was excited to have my picture as part of the photo coverage for that event. Once that happened, it seemed silly not to use my own picture for my icon.

Does anyone remember what my icon originally was? I only had one...

Congrats Craig! I have to run to class and work, but I wanted to say congrats, have a great day, and thank you so much for all that you do around here. Heaven knows it isn't easy putting up with all of us. I'm glad you got chosen on a Friday, you deserve the full weekend.

What would be your ideal vacation.

3 weeks in a mental institution. Kidding

I think a couple of weeks in Australia (never been but always wanted to go) where I could tour around the cities, go camping in the outback, diving on the great barrier reef, eat amazing seafood and listen to the wonderful australian accent :)

3 weeks in a mental institution.

Sometimes that just seems like a great option doesn't it??

Craig, thanks for you answers.

Do you have an opinion or position on people who post using multiple identities? And, are there any past posters whose other identities you can reveal?

As moderatorish as this sounds - more than one indentity is not allowed, so my position is that when discovered, the multiples be removed. In a more blunt way is - if you can't or don't want to say something as yourself - you shouldn't be saying it.

And no - I can't reveal such things as that. We take privacy issues here at BWW extremely seriously!

Patronus, wonderful choice - even if (on four hours of sleep), I thought yesterday was Friday and you had the weekend. Sometimes I'm an a#$.
Craig - you do a tremendous job in a very difficult task. Fair-minded and always considerate, while juggling international communications laws, you are amazing. My congratulations to you!
Question - What is your "comfort" read or music? - the book or music you go to in order to comfort yourself or restore your soul? I know you've already listed your favorite books, but this is slightly different.

Congratulations to Patronus for making a wonderfully inspired selection. Bravo.

And, Craig, congratulations! (Has Rob given you a salute yet?)

My questions:
1. If you could sum up BWW in just three words: what would they be?

2. What will be your epitaph?

3. What was your most embarrassing moment in a high school performance?

4. If you could have any Broadway performer sing any song to you: Who would it be, what would they croon, and why?

5. What is Patrick Wilson's current dollar offer to you and
Rob to make beacon1 "disappear". And, is it true that Mister Wilson is recruiting you to be the tech specialist on his anti-beaconism task force?

Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?

"Is there any role on stage that you have always wanted to play"

In a few years, I'd love to do Sweeney Todd. I don't think 8 shows a week.. but definitely a few shows.

I'd also like to do Barnum (as Barnum), Styne in City of Angels and Charlie Kringas in Merrily..

"What is your "comfort" read or music? - the book or music you go to in order to comfort yourself or restore your soul?"

Jazz always mellows me out - so I would have to say Jazz. I used to put that on as much as possible when driving in traffic.

My comfort read is really The Bridge Across Forever. It's by Richard Bach (who wrote Jonathan Livingston Seagull) and is pretty much autobiographical about his search for his soulmate.

1. If you could sum up BWW in just three words: what would they be? Pioneering, Comphrehensive and respectful

2. What will be your epitaph? hopefully loving son, father and friend

3. What was your most embarrassing moment in a high school performance? Didn't really have one. I felt bad for the few kids that started to cry when I came out all bandaged up while playing Marley in A Christmas Carol though.

4. If you could have any Broadway performer sing any song to you: Who would it be, what would they croon, and why? You know what - I think that during several of our concerts this has already happened. I'm going to have to give this some more thought tho...

5. What is Patrick Wilson's current dollar offer to you and
Rob to make beacon1 "disappear". And, is it true that Mister Wilson is recruiting you to be the tech specialist on his anti-beaconism task force?
Again, I am unable to answer #5 because of the privacy issue policies on BWW :)
