Acctually, after pandas are weaned their mothers usually leave them to go find a new mate or to find new territory. Pandas are mostly solitary animals. Their paths rarely cross unless it is time to mate or if they have a baby.

You're right - I just checked and Hua Mei is the only panda born outside of China who has actually been returned to China. Hua Mei was returned to China in 2004 so she could be 'married'!

I've actually already done that Kel--the raising kids thing. At least penguins are loyal.

My friends Jerry and David adopted a child in China and fully expected to get a girl. When they got to the orphanage they were given a boy. I just think it's interesting.

So I have been debating on if I should choose someone I "know" or someone I "know of" and I have made that decision. I then was able to fairly quickly narrow it down to a group of 4-5 and that was where the hard part began. I decided that I should pick someone who was interesting, kind, smart, funny, and an all around great person. Most importantly I wanted to pick someone who I feel truly deserves the title of MBCotD and I feel that I have done that with this person.

Bluemoon!

Moony is a wonderful person both on and off of BWW. She was the first BWWer I had the pleasure to meet in real life and is a complete doll. She is a fellow educator, a wonderful mom, a great wife and an amazing friend. Getting to know her has made BWW a brighter place for me and has made my decision to move after graduation a whole lot easier because I know that I will have a wonderful friend nearby. Moony dear I hope you enjoy your day, you deserve it! Love you sweetheart!

I want to thank everyone again for such a wonderful day. It is such a surprising ego boost and it was so much fun answering all of your questions. I just hope that Moony has as much fun as I did.
