Which five people with public voices do you think are worth listening to, and why?
Oh, God, DG, I was afraid you'd ask.
I'm saving this one for 12:00 noon because I have to proctor an exam then and I can concentrate. There's too much going on in the office right now. Including people looking over my sholder and saying, "You're a WHAT?"
Mom - enjoy the disclosures. I'm such a private person that you'll never hear any of this again!

Moony that was my only hesitation in nominating you, but I knew that you would find a way to enjoy it, inform us, and still keep the level of privacy that you want. You're quite the talented woman.

2) If you could date someone in the "Classic movie" era, who would it be and why?
3) What band are/were you obsessed with?
Congrats BlueMoon!
Could not go to a better poster!
A little birdie told me it was your day, darling, so I had to check in to make sure everyone knows how much of a celebrity you are to some of us every day.
Everyone who pays the slightest bit of attention knows you are smart, funny, and wise, but some of us have the privilege of knowing that you're brave, unselfish (though just selfish enough to be a helluva lot of fun), a great listener, a bottomless well of love and support, and one of the best friends a gal (or guy) could ever dream of.
Emjoy your day, my dear friend. If it were up to me, you'd have a month.
xoxoxoxoxo
Welcome back Rath, I've missed seeing you.

What is your earliest childhood memory? See above answer
As a teacher, what do you think that the biggest problem in the education system is today? As a parent, what do you think the biggest problem is? All the baggage our students are dealing outside the classroom which has an effect on their work inside the classroom. So many young people are hurting and walking around with problems and concerns and pressures that we never had to deal with as kids. I really feel for them and I want to wave a magic wand and make it all better, but that's not realistic and you play with the hand you're dealt. As a parent I get frustrated with bureaucracy and red tape and kids getting lost in the shuffle. As one of the people who IS the bureacracy and shuffling kids, I feel badly as well, but I understand instituional limitations.
If you were to take three BWWers on an all expenses paid trip where would you go, what would you do and who would you take?
Hmmmmm....I would go back to Italy in a heartbeat. It would fun to the land through the eyes of Boobs (he's in Chicago today, btw), Addy and (just for kicks) paplovemambo. We'd probably end up in every bar from Torino to Sicily.
Oh my God, she returns. And I was helping someone with paperwork!

5. What is your favorite curse word? F**k a duck
6. What sound or noise do you love? laughter
7. What sound or noise do you hate? crying - tugs at my heartstrings

If you could pick one super power or special ability, what would it be? To heal the wounded with just one touch. (I mean, who wants to touch a wound more than once?)
What was your favorite childhood toy? A stuffed bambi doll that I got for Christmas when I was three. I still have him, though his fur is worn and he lost an eye.
If you could meet the 'wise man' on top of the mountain, what would you ask him? I'd be tempted to ask him why he doesn't come down off the mountain. But, I guess I'd want to know why human are self destructive.

Questions
1) What is your favorite movie? Toss up between "The Natural" and "I am David". I'm a sucker for stories of trandformation and redemption.
2) If you could date someone in the "Classic movie" era, who would it be and why? Hmmm. so many men....Clark Gable, just to see if he was really all that.
3) What band are/were you obsessed with? This is embarrassing because it's really dorky and it will show how old I am. I was completely and utterly obsessed with The Monkees. I was going to grow up and marry Mickey Dolenz. They would ask me join the band and, unlike Yoko, I would be embraced by the others. Yeah, life doesn't work out the way you plan it in 6th grade. And that's a good thing. As an adult, I've never been obsessed by anything or anyone. Which leaves Mr. Wilson free and clear for Beacon.

Moony, when I was a small child I loved the reruns of the Monkees and I too wanted to marry Mickey. I didn't quite grasp the age difference.

Addy - I was supposed to go this summer, but I've had to postpone it. That's ok - it will give us time to plan. We don't want to go into just ANY bar.
Calls from Lipton = nowhere near as scary as PMs from papa.
