I sent the archers over to the lacrosse field. Seemed like more of a fair fight. I may sneak out and what what happens.
Grizz and Kringas -thanks! Yenta - as an honarary Italian, want to go to Italy with Addy and me?
Penny - we need to plan lunch/dinner!
Tell me when...I would love to have dinner with a CELEBRITY!
Moony-Art history classes were my favorites! I majored in art ed. but of course we had several art hist. courses. I recommend taking one of those classes to everyone-it's like being in the movies-you watch gorgeous slides, and if you have a good instructor, you're transported to other worlds~

Moonie, what is your favorite color?
A deep shade of red known as 'claret'. It's rich, elegant and passionate while being understated.
Colors are very important to me. I collect color swatches - materials and those paint thingy at the hardware store. I can pour over color combinations for hours. I love to mix paint up and create shade and tones. In art, that is what draws me in the most - the use of color.
Claret is a more vibrant burgundy of sorts, which makes sense, as claret is a lighter wine (actually, watered down wine, if memory serves me correctly).
It sounds as if Moonie, KMF and I could do well as paint namers!

Hi brd!
What is your favorite DC monument? The Lincoln Memorial. He was one of the most important men to hold office in such a pivotal moment in history. He words echo in my mind over and over. The other monuments don't elicit the same emotional response from me. (also he and I are the same Myers-Briggs personality type so I feel a kinship)
Favorite Museum? I think American History. I taught US history myself and my husband is an historian. I can see those exhibits over and over and always discover something new.
Moonie: What is your favorite period of American History?

I think probably the Colonial period. Everything seemed so fresh and new and fraught with both dangers and possibilities. A chance to create something new and courageously try new ways. and the leaders who stepped up at the time - what a wonderful collection of leaders.
Congrats, Moonie!!!
JustTheFacts and Moonie.. I'm a total Dark Shadows fan...
Used to run home from school to watch it when it came on (I think it was 3:30pm then, after it saved ABC's daytime from certain death)... then, my friends and I would act out DS outside. I was always Barnabus... I have no one favorite..
For the last two years, I've been getting all the episodes on NetFlix/Blockbuster so I could watch what I missed when I was too young and re-watch what I did...
If you were a character in a Dickens novel, who would you be, Bluemoon?
--- Fido (DD's older brother)
Congrats Bluemoon!
What is your favorite thing to teach?
What are the biggest changes you have seen in education while you've been teaching?
Interesting choice, the maple.

Fido - I can't believe you're old enough to have gone to school in the 60's! You must have watched the show after kindergarten! As a kid I used to watch shows, then go outside and reinact everthing I just watched. I organized the neighborhood kids into a street theater group.
The Dicken's question: it would be Lucy Manet. Noble, loving and well-loved. That book was my favorite as a teen.
Hi Wendy!
Favorite thing to teach - in the classroom it's the history of theater. But my favorite educational experience is being a retreat leader. I make it a point to serve as a leader on a Kairos retreat once a year. I learn as much as my students and it's wonderful to get to see a whole different side to them. Afterward I feel like I'm working with the student as a 'whole person' rather just a name on my class roster.
Biggest changes: the aforementioned pressures and pain that many students are living with these days. The students thenselves are different, and not for the better.

I'm going to think locally here.
FindingNamo. He knows why.
It would be vegetarian (for him), maybe Italian (sensing a theme here?) with plenty of good wine.
Then I'd have Liam jump out of cake and destroy the whole evening. But it would be fun and fascinating up to that point....

I've been going through the thread looking for any questions I may have missed. I know, DG, I'm still working on it
I've noticed two things: my typing is horrible today. Pardon me, I'm rushing and not proof reading.
Secondly, I need to take moment and thank Craig for this thread. Although it's been said by many before me, I must reiterate - this was a great idea and an even greater reality. A lovely way of creating and renewing the sense of community here. Thank you for making this possible, Craig.
