Moony:
I loved the Monkees, too, but was a Davy Jones fan. And, I didn't grasp the age difference either. I was going to be the fan who they scooped out of the crowd and then let hang around with them. It made perfect sense.
And, then Bobby Sherman, David Cassidy, Donny Osmond...and so on until we now have Mister Wilson in the spotlight. (Thanks for letting me have him--Addy makes periodic attempts to get her mitts on him...)

Yes, let's plan! I know a great little spot on the beach in Positano... We can start there.
Where were you planning on travelling this summer? I've got plans to go back this Fall. This year will be the Rome/Florence/Tuscany trip.
Lots of piazza light!

Of all days for me to post my chuckle and get back into bed (not feeling well) to finally come on and to find one of my favorites to be crowned CotD...sorry I missed the crowning. Thanks Kel for filling in for me. You couldn't have picked a better person to pass it on to. When I think of Moony the song that always pops into my head is "You Light Up My Life"..she lights up a room with her presense and my heart. I bow to her today.
Now of course my question is....If you could interview one person (dead or alive)who would it be and what questions would you ask?

Jane - thanks so much. So far lunch has been tuna salad and a bag of popcorn, so I don't think special food is in my near future. We are working on a special project here this evening so we will probably call for carry-out, so maybe then!
Addy - I bet I know just the spot on the beach at Positano! Hated sitting on the actual beach, though. Very uncomfoartable. I would rather climb up and down the stairs and visit the shops. Our planned trip was Florence, Assisi, Capri and Rome. If I had one personal wish in the world it would be to own a home in Tuscany and have the luxury of time to spend there. I think I could spend my dying days very happily in Tuscany.

Boobs! Though you were headed for the Windy City today. So sorry you're not well, sweets. Thanks for the kind words - you know the feelings are mutual. Did you see that you're coming to Italy with Addy, papa and me?
If you could interview one person (dead or alive)who would it be and what questions would you ask?
It would the be live person. The dead aren't much for conversation.

Not my first time, Dame...
Bluemoon - that's a fabulous itinerary.
I love the whole Under the Tuscan Sun dream... I wonder if they need an adgal in Tuscany? hmmm...
ok, back to the 'getting to know you' questions:
Have you ever had a surprise party? Were you surprised?
If someone from out of town was visiting for the first time, what you you take them to see?

I leave for the Windy City tomorrow morning..that's why I stayed home today...didn't want to get sicker with this weather and the commuting...the extra sleep seemed to help.
And for my 2nd question....What inspires you?

OK, for real:
it would Jesus of Nazereth. I'd want to know all about the real person of Jesus. What did he really say and what did he really mean? This would be as opposed to what others report that he said and still others interpret to suit their purpose.
I suppose we will have that conversation soon enough. I'm in no hurry.

Bluemoon - how glorious! I'm home today because of the sleet and snow, otherwise I wouldn't have seen this until late. There must have been cosmic forces influencing your impending coronation, because driving home last night I saw the most beautiful crescent moon with earthshine - Ash Wednesday earthshine, no less! - and all the while I was listening to the Corrs singing "I need you at the dimming of the day." In your honor, I've snagged a picture that comes close to what I saw.
My question - from your other answers I'm guessing you're my generation - did you used to follow Dark Shadows? And if you did, who was your favorite character? And in case my DS question falls flat - what is your favorite phase of the moon and why?

Have you ever had a surprise party? Were you surprised?
I had a surprise baby shower which was not a surprise because a dim-witted co-worker asked me what I was wearing to my surprise shower. Yeah. Nice gathering, though. The hostess knew that I have a very low tolerance for "hen parties" (weddings & baby showers) and she made it a coed potluck dinner party that just happened to have baby gifts.
If someone from out of town was visiting for the first time, what you you take them to see?
The obvious ones - White House, Capitol, Smithsonian, monuments (at night). But also the National Gallery of Art, the National Cathedral, Georgetown, Woodrow Wilson's house and one of my favorites - the Congressional Cemetary. No joke - fascinating.

What inspires you?
People. Humans are so fascinating - a universe unto themselves. The best and (sometimes)the worst of what life has to offer. But I find grace and goodness in everyone I meet and with whom I share time. All this and I'm still an introvert.

MOONY!!! I am so upset that work's keeping me busy and away from the board during the day.
I totally <3 you! From the moment we first met, there was such an awesome connection. Congratulations! I'll try to visit during the day.

Hi Just! Glad to see you! I did see the moon last night - beautiful.
did you used to follow Dark Shadows? And if you did, who was your favorite character?
Sadly, Just, I missed out on that cultural milestone. It was on after school and I was always involved in after school activities and got home too late. No recorders back then in the dark ages. I used to read about them in 16 Magazine though.
And in case my DS question falls flat - what is your favorite phase of the moon and why? I love, love love full moon. Especially when they are just rising over the horizen and they are huge and glowing. I love moonlight. I ove blue moons because they are rare and unique and I like to think that all of are as well.

Now the question (same as I've asked others) What's your favorite "comfort" read or "comfort" music?

How about art? or photography? Do you have any favorites?
Yes, but they keep evolving. I guess I keep evolving! I move through phases and it shows on my walls. I have always loved art and if I had it to do over again I would have majored in art history. I'm considering going back to school and taking some adult ed courses for formal study.
I'm currently taken with post-impressionists. I'm studying Cezanne right now. Last year was my northern renaissance period.
My walls have watercolors from local artists and a few (ok, 2) oil rendering of the Tuscan countryside. Yup, that Italy thing again.
DD- hope I caught you before you took off -
the tree: a maple - beautiful blaze of color and a source of sweetness. How could you go wrong?
I've just found out that I have booked the Dance Team and the Archery Club in the same space after school today. I'll be off a while while I straighten out this mess. NOT a good combination.
