About all I have left in my bar, at this point, is Bailey's and Frangelica. Nutty Irishman anyone?

Shameless - I actually have both of those - I may join you, as that sounds pretty good right now!
Moony - OK with the wine?
DG - It's not a 12-year-old scotch, but it is tasty.
I had my brother and sister-in-law dogsit a couple weekends ago and they either had a party or they both need to join AA. Most of my good stuff is gone or almost gone, but they did leave some banana rum I've never heard of, and chocolates.
How about a Nutty Italianman..anyone????
*raises glass to Moony*
Boobs, it sounds like we should start sampling our Italian cocktails...l
*salute!*
*salute! Addy*
Now how about a Campari and soda....a favorite of mine !!!

What is this about Italian nuts?
Every tick of the clock means another sip for Moony - this could get REALLY fun
Sounds perfect, Boobsie! Hope Moony likes it as well!

Sorry to have taken a leave. One glass turn into two, two into...well, you get the picture. At 7:30 I sat down to answer Shameless' questions and could only giggle. I knew I needed food to soak up the white zin. I'm back and almost sober.
HI UNDI!!!!!! Look - Kel made me MBCotD! Oh, I guess you knew that. We'll proceed.
What has given you the most (non-sexual and non-criminal) pleasure in the last year? Watching my daughter grow into a lovely young woman. Over night she left childhood and became a grown up, all seemingly in the past year (or I just noticed). She's such a pleasure to know.
If you could be anyone you wanted to be today, who would you be, and what would you do? I would be the President and make some changes.
If someone gave you a million dollars, how would you spend it?
A million doesn't buy what it used to! I'd have to say I'd give it all to Katrina relief efforts, but a million is probably a drop in the bucket; the need is so great.
If your house were on fire, what would you grab on the way out?
A box I have in my closet with some important family heirlooms and the tiny t-shirt my daughter wore home from the hospital when she was born and as many photo albums as I could grab.
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
I called my friend, Gary and he emailed me this answer:
"Still waters run deep. I'd have to say that you are passionate, determined, wise, deeply caring and the funniest person I know. But you are so private that many people don't see any of this until they know you well. I am always stunned by how deeply spiritual you are and at the same time incredibly earthy. You're just one hell of a woman."
I guess that's all true, but if I'm the funniest person he knows, he need to widen his circle of friends.
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
Singing in a musical. I simply don't have the talent, but I'd kill to play the witch in Into the Woods.

What was the one crazy/spur of the moment/out of character thing you have done?
Actually, Undi, I think it was following you into the Monster. At one pint I was thinking, "Good God Almighty what am I doing at 2:00 in the morning drinking in a gay bar in New York City, getting felt up by an old drunk?" The answer was, "Having a hell of a good time!"
When I tell the story at work, no one believes me. *sigh*

Moony..what do you do for a perfect Sunday?
For one thing, I turn off my cellphone so I don't get called into work. I have a boss who likes to work on Sundays when everything is quiet and she thinks it's a great time for us to get things done.
I like a leisurely morning, reading the papers and having brunch. Afternoons I like to spend downtown at museums or seeing some new exhibit. We go to mass at 5:30 at the chapel at my husband's school, then usually go out for dinner with friends who are also there. My family usually calls on Sundays to check in - we are spread throughout the country. It's a very nice day with no obligations.

Fido - I can't believe you're old enough to have gone to school in the 60's! You must have watched the show after kindergarten!
Moonie.. you are now my friend for life.. I am quite old enough, but NO ONE, NO ONE (save one b**t**d a month ago) ever guesses my age... they are usually off by a decade, sometimes more :)
The show started in 66, but I didn't start watching until 69.. it would have been wasted on me in 66 obviously... watched it until it went off the air... and that day, oh MY... when my mother came home and tried to iron, I just had to talk about the dead coming back to life and Collinsport being rampaged, but then everything being put back the way it should be and ... and... and..
Yay for the Monster and Rath's thighs...
congrats bluemoon :)!

OK, DG, I'm home now things have quieted down. The wine is wearing off and I've yet to take my vicodin, so I'll seize the moment to answer your question:
The five public voices:
Thomas Merton for spirituality
Joe Lieberman for bi-partisan politics
E.D. Hirsch for education
Tom Friedman for common sense
The Wall Street Journal editorial page for economic sense
At least I put a lot of thought into it, DG. Sober thought at that!

You do.
It was your avatar, but avs are known to make people look younger and thinner.

Fido, you are adorable.

Bluemoon, where was your favorite place to hide as a child?
Under a work table in my dad's den. Mom let me pull an old bedsheet over it and it became my 'house'. A sanctuary I filled with books and stuffed animals. And food which the stuffed animals never seemed interested in, so all the more me.
