Moonie,
You have navigated the somewhat turbulent waters of the MBCotD so smoothly. I can't believe you had so much to do at work today, yet fielded everyone's questions with aplomb. (I especially loved the image of the mis-scheduled dancers and archery team.)
And how many glasses of wine did you say you drank this evening? I'm amazed.
I'm going to turn in early tonight, so I will say "Pleasant Dreams" to you and thank you for making our days so sweet...and comical.
Looking forward to our "tryst"!
Miss Pennywise
giggles galore, Moony!

She leaned against the pillar of the monument, not really sure what to expect. It hadn’t been her idea to come here tonight. And yet, there they were, alone in the stillness and the dark, with the only light coming from the moonbeams reflected in the water beyond.
She could hear him moving about behind her – the scrape of metal across the marble floor, the warm buzzing hum of electronics, his whispered mutterings. And she was remembering. Remembering the years that had led to this moment – shared dreams, shared exhilarations, shared disappointments, shared life. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat in being parents. The forgotten wishes, and fulfilled unspoken prayers.
Suddenly, the silence was broken by crackling hiss as a needle fell gently to a turntable, and she had to smile into the night breeze – he had actually brought a record player. As he came up behind her, and the warmth of his embrace enfolded her, the orchestra began to play. And when her favorite singer started to sing the words that she had engraved on her heart’s desire, she knew that he understood.
She felt loved.
She felt happy.
And she was at peace.
"Blue Moon
You saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own
Blue Moon
You know just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for
And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked to the Moon it turned to gold
Blue Moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own"
Good night and sweet, wild dreams, Moonie. May you have a lifetime of days just as wonderful as this one!
Mamie,
If that walk on the "wildside" means Virginia, I don't think she's gonna bite.
Ooh Mamie--they have a clarinet choir arrangement of "Moonlight Serenade"--I was first clarinet so I played the melody really high, and gah, it's beautiful! Definitely one of my favorite non-Broadway related pieces I've ever played on clarinet. I played it in 8th grade, but still have it memorized. Great great song
Never MP! That pic looked like a big city skyline at night. The city is the only decent place to 'howl' in. And if you look closely, you'll see the image of a wolf on the left side. I thought there was something kind of neat about the mix of a wild wolf, a metropolitan city, and the moonlight serenade. (And I agree completely WRQ - it's gorgeous)

Oh my God, DG....just when I thought I couldn't love you any more than I do, you go and do this.
Penny - thanks for the kind words. I knew that wasn't Virginia in the picture because there were no wackos shooting at the moon.
Mamie - when I take that walk on the wild side you MUST come with me. I do love "Moonlight Serenade". Thanks so much for all you've contributed here today and all you've contributed to my experience on the board. I enjoy you so much.
Look Mamie - I'm keeping your hours tonight. Middle-age insomnia. Gotta love it.
