First, let me start by once again thanking KelRel for this honor - and it IS an honor. One that humbled me but delighted me as well. I've so many connections on this board, many of whom have become dear friends in 'real life'. What a small world the internet has created! The next recipient of the MBCotD title will reign throughout the weekend, so it had to be someone very special. I think it is.
I thought long and hard about who to name as my successor. I decided early on to keep the tradition of naming a poster who is not someone I 'know' on the board, but someone I admire and would like to 'know' better. The same name kept recurring. From the time I first discovered this board this person's posts have caught my eye. This person usually says what I'm thinking, only the thoughts are expressed with a lot more clarity and eloquence than I could muster. I admire this person's sensibilities and the straight, no BS approach to life and opinions on the board. The pithy, clever and yet succinct retorts give new meaning to the term 'quick-witted'. The stiletto goes in before others are even aware of its presence. I read and I think, "Oh, she's good. She's very good." Given what little I know about this person she remains a delightful, tantalizing mystery. And yet she constantly resonates with me. I knew she needed to be recognized.
My one hesitation is that she is a very private person and I did not want her to wince in the glare of the spotlight. But the members of the board have been quite respectful of MBCotDs' privacy and boundaries and this is not the Broadway Inquisition! Confident then that she will understand my desire is to honor her, not roast her, I hereby name as MBCotD for the weekend.......
