Thanks, papa. I'll get back to answering questions later tonight.
But I do have an early memory of being a toddler of two and playing with our Great Dane named Greta. This dog was so patient with me, especially when I wanted to ride her. (NO CRUDE JOKES!)
...and no that isn't my favorite pet's name.
Three Big Cheers for etoile !!! A treasure to the board and one of the first people to welcome me here back then. Love ya !
What a nice CotD to come home to! I worship Etoile as an island goddess. Congrats!

" Do you prefer the Chef's Corner, Celeb Corner or Corine's Favorite Places?"
Sammy, Sammy, Sammy2, despite all your shilling I don't visit The Corner, though I do hear some of the *cough* feedback. I can only take farce in small doses. Plus I would be so afraid if I visited I would contract a stomach virus or some other ailment du jour. Is hypochondria contagious?

5. What is your favorite curse word? - Can't type it out accurately and I try so hard to not usually swear, but I just like the sound of calling someone worthy a d!ckhead. I use it equally without regard to sex or orientation.
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? - I want my next job to be something totally without much responsibility other than showing up. Something simple like, "Hi, welcome to WalMart." or to work in a Borders where I'm surrounded by books, CDs, videos, and the smell of coffee, lots and lots of coffee.
etoile, sorry to be so late in getting here to congratulate you. I'm glad you got this opportunity to show people what you're all about. Your no BS attitude is something that people can too easy pass off as bitchy, but it's something that has made me admire you. Hopefully, others who don't know you, will now see that there is a lot there to respect and admire.

...Oh, I'm bitchy too. At least I'm self aware.
oh, wow, I completely missed this! I'm sorry! Belated congratulations, etoile! It was really nice to meet you at Standing Ovations! :)

As my "reign" draws to an end I guess I should catch up on a few more questions.
"If you could go back in time and be an eye witness to one historical event, what would it be? If you could change that act, would you?" - Perhaps not historical in traditional terms but appropriate for this board. I would have loved to have seen HAMLET performed for the first time. Imagine being in a theatre where no one in the audience knew this play. No, I wouldn't change a thing.
"If you could possess one magical ability, what would it be and how would you use it?" - I wouldn't want magical abilities. I'm human and I know my place in this world.
"If you can sing (?) and if you had to pick one song to sing solo in a concert..what would it be and why?" - The one song would change with my mood. My first reaction is to say 1776's "He Plays The Violin" knowing my strengths it's a song I could always sing well and have fun with...but then I'd start thinking of Noel Coward's "Life is What You Make Of It" and would prance around with that...or throw myself into Pimpernel's "Vivez". I think the common thread is that it would have to be a song you could dramatically play with while having FUN.
"What show, performer or song made you first love the theatre?" I honestly don't remember my first show. But I have vivid memories of Sunday's listening to cast albums. After returning from church Sunday mornings by mother and father would be in the kitchen preparing a Sunday dinner while the children all did their weekly household cleaning chores. I always wanted to clean and dust the living room because my dad would be playing the Hi-Fi. That's when I first heard THE MUSIC MAN, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, SOUTH PACIFIC, WEST SIDE STORY, and Mario Lanza! Mario singing Caruso, Mario singing THE STUDENT PRINCE! To this day STUDENT PRINCE remains one of my favorite scores.
"If you had been the sole winner of the $300+ million lottery, how would you spend it?" - There would probably be about 299 other happy people. How much money does one person really need?
"What is the one thing you are proudest of having done in your life?" - Too personal to say, but I'm proud to know I made some positive differences in some people's lives, at least I think I have. (Oh course upon reflection I've also made some negative difference also and truth be told I am equally proud of that.)

As some here realize I am not a morning person. I say that with the knowledge that I will not be online at 10am. So I will take this opportunity to name my successor now.
Thank you to BlueMoon for the honor of having named me CoD. Thank you to Craig, not only for the thread but also for all the work, hours, and dedication you devote to all of BWW.
It was dedication that made me think of the next CoD. I thought of many who contribute to the overall appearance of BWW. The reviews and interviews don't get written themselves. The photos and clips don' t magically appear. Quizzes and polls aren't created in a vacuum. And the boards simply can't exist without moderators.
It's been with some amusement that I've read some grumbling denouncing the new unknown button pushing deleter. I'm certain most have heard the saying, "Better the devil you know." Now I would never think of the poster I'm naming as a devil. Instead I want to hail him for all the work he has done in the past for this board. I look forward to continued quizzes and CD reviews and post from this member.
I would like at this time to name the very deserving José as my choice for the next CoD.
Excellent choice Etoile....CONGRATS Jose' !!!..no one is more deserving of wearing this crown than you my friend...this just made my Monday brighter.
1st question....my usual....if you could interview 1 person (dead or alive) who would it be and what questions would you ask.
2nd question....what inspires you?
Congrats to our new MBCotD!! I don't even have my coffee yet so I raise my OJ glass in a toast to you Jose!
Questions!!!
1, Favorite cookie
2, Hero as a child
3, Favorite book as a child
4, Way to spend a rainy Saturday

Well I have my coffee already, so here's to you, Jose! Congratulations!
My question: how is life different for you now that you've retired as moderator?
Now this is the way to begin a week -- honoring two people who truly mean a lot to me. Both intelligent, forthright, outspoken and a delight to be around. Thank you etoile for sharing a part of yourself this weekend. I know that it was out of character, but it gave me (and others) some nice insight into your mystique. Jose, my dear friend ... congratulations!
Your question: Which RobbO photo made the most money -- RobbO and Boobs in the tent, RobbO and me in the sling hung from the pine tree or the one of you, RobbO and that tall guy you hang around with impersonating a S'more?

Congrats, Jose'! Enjoy your day!

Congrats Jose`. I hope that you have an amazing day. As much crap as you have had to put up with from this board, its about time you get a little bit of appreciation.
What is your favorite way to spend a day in the city?
Congrats Jose!
Now, will you come out to play?

Congratulations, Jose. I'm sure being a moderator was never easy, so it's good to see you being recognized as one of the BWW greats now!
My usual question: What us your favorite "comfort" read or "comfort" music?
OMG - I am TOTALLY freaking out! I just logged on and saw etoile's pick and I almost had to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming. As God is my witness - last night I had a crazy dream where etoile sent me a PM and asked me who I would pick if I had a second chance. I told her 'absolutely - Jose. I would LOVE to have a chance to learn more about this man!'
(Strap me to a polygraph and you'll see I'm telling the complete truth!)
I'll be back later with some questions Jose. But for now - CONGRATULATIONS! You know I love you dearly AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW YOU!!!
