What is your favorite role you'd one day like to play (soon as you get cast on Broadway)?
Gorgeous Teitelbaum, The Sisters Rosensweig.
Which is your favorite Broadway songwriter/songwriter team?
Rodgers and Hammerstein
What do you do first when you wake up in the morning? ("getting up" doesn't count)
Hit the snoozebar!
If you were given the power, which past Broadway production would you undo so it never could have happened?
Brooklyn.
What was your first Broadway show? What was that experience like?
Evita, as a child, with my parents and out-of-town relatives. It was magic! For weeks beforehand, I'd been dramatically pointing my finger at every member of my family, singing "I kept my promise! You keep your distance!" b/c of the non-stop commercials. I'm sure my parents were relieved to finally hear LuPone instead.
What show(s) would you like to have seen, but didn't because you weren't born yet?
The original productions of Anything Goes, West Side Story, Funny Girl, Hello Dolly, Guys and Dolls, Sweet Charity, Bye, Bye, Birdie, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof, Hair, South Pacific, A Long Day's Journey Into Night, A Moon for the Misbegotten, The Glass Menagerie, A Streetcar Named Desire, A Raisin in the Sun, The Member of the Wedding.

Evita was my first too!
Patti had left, Derin Altay was Eva.

Do you have a favorite rock/pop band and/or artist? If so, who is it? (And if you have a favorite "classic" artist vs. a favorite "current" artist, feel free to share that info!)

oh i like her...& shes got good taste in music.

Doodle, I feel so lame...I have no idea who that woman is! Was she good?
Erika...of all time? The Police. Other faves include old-school U2, The Ramones, Squeeze, Duran Duran, Ultravox, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, Queen, Blondie, The Jackson Five, Nirvana and too many others to name.
Hmm...classic artist? I'm thinking I'm supposed to mention some great classical music composer, but when I think classic music I think The Beatles (does that count? They got together and disbanded before I was born!). SO..as for classic vs. current? I guess for classic I'd say The Beatles.
I'm not really up on everything current...I dislike mainly all of those interchangeable pop princesses. But I'd have to say Pink. She's ballsy, she can write, she's true to herself and I am absolutely in love with her voice. I am VERY picky when it comes to female voices I like. Favorites include Barbra Streisand, kd lang, Eva Cassidy, Kate Bush, Pink, Aretha Franklin, the great Cass Elliot, Linda Ronstadt (how she is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame baffles me) and, of course, lots of Broadway singers (Andrea McArdle, Patti LuPone, Laurie Beechman, Frances Ruffelle, Orfeh and several others).

Derin Altay was good, tho no Patti. She was recently alongside Patti as one of the strippers in Gypsy at Ravinia.
Blueroses, I know you are being bombarded with questions, so I won't ask another. I just wanted to give you a shout out. I love ya and all that you bring to the boards. xxoo Congrats!!!

LOL... First of all, no wonder I like you so much. Our musical tastes jibe quite well! Secondly, when I said "classic" vs. "current," I meant like Bowie (or the Beatles, or the Police, actually, since they broke up over 20 years ago) vs. "newer" artists like Radiohead, or Pink, or Beck, whatever. =)
Quick threadjack: I was the BIGGEST freakin' Duranie ever! Biggest tragedy of my life? My overprotective (but wonderful) mother didn't allow me to go to the "7 and the Ragged Tiger" show at Madison Sqaure Garden (3rd row center seats) because she didn't know the parents. Mind you, I met the girl who invited me at CCD class (to get "Confirmed" in the Catholic church). The show was simulcast that very evening on Z-100, and I just stayed in my room all night and cried and cried and CRIED. I still haven't let Mom live that down. lol
Congrats, Blue! Have a great day!

I feel like I'm supposed to have some deep appreciation of Radiohead and Beck, but I'm just meh over them even though I respect their ability. I did like songs by The Killers, The White Stripes and Franz Ferdinand. iTunes makes it so I can buy a song or two without the whole CD, so me likee (sorry music purists!)
Ooh, re: current. I forgot to mention Rufus Wainwright. LOVE. And Paul Thomas Anderson probably had a lot to do with that.
Erika, you have no idea how much I loved Duran Duran! I SAW that concert at MSG (are you originally from NY?). But I had nosebleed seats. My friends were crazy groupies...they'd follow them everywhere. I finally met John, Nick and Roger (*swoons* Roger!) at a taping and concert for the Carson Daly show that my friends and I got tickets to about a year and a half ago when they came out with their new CD. Saw them at the Garden for the Astronaut tour and they were unbelievable. Simon is still one amazing frontman.
ETA: Thank you, junglered. I like your puppy!

Erika, I've seen celebs before and even though it's kind of exciting it doesn't have that big of an effect on me. But when Roger Taylor shook my hand? I think I had a prolapsed uterus.

ROTFLMAO! I would have that reaction to John Taylor or STING. If it were Sting, I might actually pass out. :-P
Congrats Blueroses!

John? Love the tallest Taylor, but he really didn't look that great! Maybe it was all the coke snorting over the years. Roger was gorgeous. Seriously, he aged really nicely--better than any of them. Nick had a face full of Lancome and looked like a lovely fifty year old lady of the manor.
Oh yeah, I'd be a puddle of mush if I met Sting, too. I'm sure I'd be cool on the outside but I'd feel very overwhelmed to be in his presence. His music was part of the soundtrack of my pre-teen/teenage years. The giddiness I felt when I met Roger was just this joyous, exuberant feeling that washed over me! All of a sudden I was a 13 year old fangirl again with his poster on my wall. It was fun.

Roger definitely is the most classically handsome, and I agree he has aged the best (from what I could tell from TV appearances, etc.), but for pure fangirl silliness, it would be John for me. He was my giant crush. (John Taylor, Sting, my husband...all bass players. See a theme?)
Now, get back to answering your fans' questions, will ya?! =)

If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
As friendly as I am, I'd prefer a private room. If I were in pain I'd most likely want to sleep a lot, be as drugged up as possible, would want control of the TV and wouldn't want to worry about exposing myself every time I got up wearing that awful gown.
What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
My niece Samantha.
What's something that we would be surprised to learn about you?
Hmm. Lots of things, probably, but the stuff that's not private: I was an Ivory Snow baby and was in commercials as a child. I had an art scholarship to F.I.T's fashion design program.
If your house were on fire, what would you grab on the way out?
My dog! After that, my wallet and car keys.
If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
The good: Funny, talented, generous, loyal, non-judgmental, articulate, romantic. The bad: Over-analytical, sarcastic, stubborn and indulgent. Can take a long time to truly let people in. I can also be a procrastinator. They'd be pretty accurate.
What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?
Learn to play piano.
What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? And, that you were given?
Got my mom premium tickets to Jersey Boys and took her for dinner at Gallagher's. She loved it. And we just happened to run into Christian Hoff when we went across the street for dessert! He was an absolute doll and chatted my mom up really sweetly. It made her night.
That I was given? The Coach holiday patchwork tote.
Popped in to say hello... Love reading your posts!
Enjoy the celeb day.
P.S. --- Ivory Snow baby! How cool is that?!?!
Congratulations! Here's a bouquet (or is that bucket, Goth?) of a dozen blue roses just for you:

Congratulations Blueroses!
Here are a few questions.
#1 - I know you're a Patti fan, too, so I'll ask what do you think her next role on Broadway should be? And what do you think of her film and television work if you're familiar with it?
#2 - Favorite movies? The silly ones can count too! And what do you think was the best movie musical?
Enjoy your weekend!
"but it's right for you!"
love ya!
YAY for you. I have one question
if you had to eat someone how would you cook them?
Ejoy being da queen

Thanks for the nice wishes, SM2, best12 and New Argentina.
*hugs cturtle* Blue is wrong for roses...
A hypothetical question: If you could have been born as anybody, who would you choose and why?
Myself. But I guess if I could have experienced what it would be like to live as a significant historical figure (for a period of time) I’d pick one I admire or find heroic…Golda Meir.
I know you're a Patti fan, too, so I'll ask what do you think her next role on Broadway should be? And what do you think of her film and television work if you're familiar with it?
Mama Rose in Gypsy, of course! Not really a surprise there.
Re: her film and television work. I only remember seeing her in a few minor roles in film and thought she was fine. She was great in Life Goes On, but in all honesty, the standouts for me were Chad Lowe and Kellie Martin. Liked her on Will and Grace. But I feel that theatre is really the medium where she shines and can best showcase her talents.
