Oh DG - I almost missed your last big day! I got a chance to run up to NY and see my dear Gregory and how could I miss that? Anyway, I'm back in time to congratulate you one last time before you make your choice tomorrow. I hope you've loved every minute of this weekend. You deserve it all!

GDit DG, I forgot to write something in here. Congrats, I know it must have been an eventful weekend. I did that PDQ DG, FYI.

Mamie - I absolutely have! It's been interesting to really consider some of the questions - and THEN consider what it is it says about me.
I wrote in another thread earlier that I enlarged a pic of Gregory, and saw that unbelievable head of hair on him. WOW! I hope you had a fabulous time
I really did. I met him and Jonathan Pryce at the stage door at 2:00. (Him on purpose - Jonathan by accident.) We went up to his dressing room for a while (mini tour there) and then we toured that whole theatre. It was really wonderful. He saw that my niece had bought a souvenir program and he offered to get it autographed for her. We met him again after the show and he had gotten everybody in the cast to sign it for her.
(Did I mention that I absolutely love that guy?)

Mamie - I love it! THAT'S how you treat people who are responsive to you as an artist and a human being. How wonderful for your neice - and I suppose it wasn't bad for you, either
You betcha! I managed to grab 3 big Jbara hugs and 2 kisses. Not bad for one afternoon's work. Colleen (my niece) is his latest fan for life. Greg has this incredible ability to make you feel like you're the celebrity who's doing him this enormous favor by coming to see him. People like that are (sadly) few and far between.
By the way - this was Sherie's last performance until next June and it was an absolute laugh riot from the get go. Jonathan Pryce couldn't keep a straight face whenever he was with Norbert. In fact, he was laughing so hard, that he got Norbert started. Then Norbie got Sherie started. It was like a house of tumbling cards. We laughed till we cried. I just love shows like that! I really recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
Well, I'm really tired now. I'm going to try to get a little sleep. You have a wonderful evening!
...that means you were in NY, Mamie...
(sorry for the jack...)

No need to apologize - I understand getting excited about seeing Mamie, and then realizing that you missed her.
Besides, you're welcome anywhere, as far as I'm concerned
I final cheers to DG for a successful COTD weekend! (It's hard work, isn't it? But always fun!)
Can't wait to see who it is tomorrow!
So sweet!

Tiff - at first it WAS hard work, because I was determined to address whatever questions people asked - and at first they came fast and furiously! But it then calmed down, and it's just been so nice to read the many warm thoughts. I've felt very lucky.

On the day I went away... goodbye...
Was all I had to say... now I...
I want to come again and stay... Oh my my...
Smile, and that will mean that I may
Cause I've seen blue skies, through the tears
In my eyes
And I realise.. I'm going home.
DG, I hope that you had a marvelous weekend. You deserve the glory sweetheart!

I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried.
I’ve had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.
To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.
Glad you had such an awesome weekend DG! Have a good week! And only 2 months til you come to NYC!

Once more
Just once before I go
I want you to know
That I have loved you all along
And even when we're far apart
I only need to feel you're living in my heart
And I'll be strong
Love you just the way
I've loved you all along

A final salute to Craig for this wonderful thread,
THANK YOU to all those who stopped in to play,
And special thanks to Margo for the opportunity.
A salute, or is that penguin trying to hitch a ride?

No need for a ride, Craig.
Since I live penguin dreams,
I'll just fly away
