I saw a story on this last night on Scarborough Country. I've learned to just tune Rush out. When he talks, I hear the voice of the teachers on those Charlie Brown specials.

What I think it funny, is that people are so against certain things, but when they themselves (or family members/friends) gets that disease or whatnot, they miraculously change their minds. It is easy to say "Say no" when you don't live with that disease.

As my grandmother used to say: "It doesn't concern you until it affects you."

Illegitimate, DG. Why do you think I'm so resentful?

I'm really surprised that so many people on this board listen to Rush Limbaugh. Why do you do it? Do you remember anything else he said about this? How did it come up?

That philosophy of it doesn't concern you until it affects you, works both ways. Many liberal-thinkers about crime and punishment become conservative thinkers when a crime is perpetrated against them. Their compassion is gone with the wind.

The problem is how deceptive this is. There are two types of stem cell research: embryo and adult. Conservatives are against embryo research. There is still adult stem cell research being conducted because it has shown results whereas embryo research hasn't. Because embryo hasn't shown any results, there is no money flowing to it. This is about scientists trying to grab tax dollars for research that hasn't shown any results.

Nice GOP talking point, Goth, but, unfortunately, it's factually incorrect.

No, it's factually correct. You see Mandy Patinkin hocking stem cell medication on tv? Didn't think so.

Dakin says:

"All hail Rush Limbaugh the Dr. of Democracy!

Michael Fox is way out of his league. Did you see the ad they put up against him. Poor Michael."

That's the kind of comment that makes even hardened BBWers shudder.

If I could sock it to you, I would.

What does Mandy Patinkin have to do with it?

"What does Mandy Patinkin have to do with it?"

He's on tv shilling Crestor, a cholesterol drug. If research proved that stem cells could help the sick, he'd be on tv shilling stem cells.

Doies anyone else love that logic? Or is it just me?
