i find it abhorrent that the republican president is ignoring congress and the world to lob missiles at syria because his pride is hurt.
typical behavior of the gop!
oh wait...

Full disclosure: I voted for Obama 2x.
However, the cynic in me can't help but wonder if this is a Syria-Invasion-for-Obamacare-Funding faustian deal with GOP congressional hawks. Oct 1 is a critical date in that it marks the start of both the federal government's fiscal year and a major Obamacare funding cycle. If Congress doesn't send the POTUS an appropriations bill for his signature by that date or approve a continuing resolution to fund the gov't on an interim basis, there will be a shutdown. Also looming is the mid-Oct debt ceiling debacle.
I don't know what else to make of going it alone.

Yup. The drone strikes are what completely disillusioned me. It made it impossible for me to vote for him.
He really should return his Nobel Peace Prize.
I voted green in 2012. Went with Jill Stein.

Papa, different corporate masters are in fact the case. I also agree this is a way for hime to make nice with the Right and have them go a little less harshly on his legacy, Obamacare.
I voted for Obama twice, but am now regretting my second vote.
Though the other choice was completely unacceptable!

I don't think he's getting anything from the GOP either.
When you look at his record he has no problem using force. There's no reason to believe he's doing this because he's been backed into a corner.

Let's not pretend that McCain or Romney would do any different in this matter.
Which makes Obama's decision all the more revolting. Can they revoke that Nobel Peace Prize?

interesting you ask that ROSCOE, there are campaigns under foot. This is from the ultralib HUFFPOST.
The Growing Campaign to Revoke Obama's Nobel Peace Prize
The Nobel Peace Prize that President Obama received 40 months ago has emerged as the most appalling Orwellian award of this century. No, war is not peace.
George Carlin used to riff about oxymorons like "jumbo shrimp," "genuine imitation," "political science" and "military intelligence." But humor is of the gallows sort when we consider the absurdity and tragedy of the world's most important peace prize honoring the world's top war maker.
This week, a challenge has begun with the launch of a petition urging the Norwegian Nobel Committee to revoke Obama's Peace Prize. By midnight of the first day, nearly 10,000 people had signed. The online petition simply tells the Nobel committee: "I urge you to rescind the Nobel Peace Prize that was awarded to Barack Obama."

Who cares if the revoke it or not Roscoe. I mean Arafat has one. It doesn't really have any meaning.
Maybe Putin should get one next year.

Well the good thing is he has former Prez W backing... even though Barak blames everything but the food on the Presidents Jet on him...
George W. Bush: "The president's got a tough choice to make and if he decides to use our military, he'll have the greatest military ever backing him up."
