to quote the very first comment:
1. the m14 rocket's range is too short to reach the impact site.
2. m14 rockets are unguided and notoriously inaccurate. they're usually fired much shorter distances than their maximum range.
3. if one presumes these missiles were fired from multiple locations closer to their targets, they could have been fired from rebel-held areas along the trajectory indicated by their final approach angles. (bear in mind that there's no dispute these missiles weren't fired from the same launcher, since different munitions were used in the attacks on each of these two sites.)
4. if hrw is correct, one or more unguided artillery rockets, loaded with poison gas, were fired right over the presidential palace as assad and his family and closest associates slept below. what could go wrong, right? possibly, yes. but plausible?
5. the us government claims to have slam-dunk evidence of where the missiles were fired from. the us government has never claimed any missile was fired from this military complex, or from anywhere near it.
