Posted: 12/22/12 at 12:29amI just downloaded and listened to the original series of Miranda radio specials that led to the TV series. The original pilot on radio was changed quite a bit (ie her best friend).

That was a wonderful episode. Her pratfalls are genius. And I really, really want her and Gary to finally get it on.

Posted: 12/29/12 at 9:21pmIs Gary still married? For the life of me I can't remember if that story was resolved. The episode was of course, such fun. This really is the kind of show I should hate--it's such a throwback to the older style UK sitcomcs I never found funny--and yet I love everything about it.

Posted: 12/29/12 at 11:30pmCan someone tell me where I can watch Series 2? I can't wait for PBS to show it.

Posted: 12/30/12 at 1:32amI just use torrents. Since it's not co-financed by PBS (unlike Downton Abbey), it's only picked up by individual PBSes on their own basis (I know the two PBSes I get--from Detroit and Seattle--don't carry it), so I don't think there's any assurance Season 2 will air.

Posted: 1/6/13 at 12:50pmI've just watched Season 1 of Call the Midwife, and Miranda does a really good job in this series as Chummy.

Posted: 1/6/13 at 9:33pmI thought the first episode of this new season was not her finest hour - it was just too silly. Much too much.

Posted: 1/6/13 at 10:32pmIt just seemed non-stop in this new one, maybe because it was less funny (in my opinion) - or maybe I'm misremembering previous episodes. I still like her though.

Posted: 1/7/13 at 1:18pmI put this comedy on the shelf with Two's Company, French and Saunders, Absolutely Fabulous, Coupling, Vicar of Dibley, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Carrie and Barry, Wild West, Let Them Eat Cake and The Catherine Tate Show. I never ever get tired of these and can re-watch them endlessly. And I do.

Those scenes last night, with Gary framed between Miranda and, errr, the new member of the cast, were brilliant.

I'll give it two weeks.

That scene with Gary in the middle broke my heart.
I'm happy for Miranda--and I really like the way they're writing this plotline--but I still want Miranda and Gary to get together!

I don't like the way he calls her "Quirky" - like being told you're as sophisticated as a box of After Eight mints, it's a back-handed insult.
And he gets his shirts in the Boden sale:

I'd never do a thing like that.

I watched Hebburn and it was okay. Quite similar to Worst Week, actually.
Everybody wants Gary and Miranda together, but once they're together, I've a feeling the series would run cold pretty quickly.
