I know it's early (2 years away) But Seriously? This is the best the GOP has to offer? No Cruz or Rubio or Christie or even Jeb Bush? No outsider who we don't know or any women in the GOP?

Giuliani was the frontrunner at this time for the '08 election. I wouldn't put too much stock in these polls...
I don't. My theory is his new documentary on NETFLIX is getting great buzz from both sides and I have a feeling this may have something to do with his latest comeback. Still, he swore he would never run after 2008 and as far as I though, the Tea Party/Republicans really did not like Mitt. They more or less settled for him with their 'Anyone but Obama' mentality. I'm just surprised Sarah Palin wasn't in the top 3.
"This is the best the GOP has to offer? No Cruz or Rubio or Christie or even Jeb Bush?"
As weak a candidate as Romney is, why would anyone think Rubio would be better, let alone Cruz (ha!) or (have you read the news lately?) Christie?
Bush, however, might at least arguably do much better for his party than Romney would.
Henrikegerman, you using logic and common sense. We're talking about the GOP. This is the party who elected Sarah Palin as their nominee for Vice President of the United States. I'm surprised Ted Nuggent has not been in any of these polls yet or any of the Duck Dynasty family.I tought I heard that Mike Huckabee was on top of some recent poll for 2016 contenders as well.Has anyone actually seen a real possible candidate other than Jeb Bush?
I'm guessing in another month or so when The Apprentice begins to air that Donald Trump will go through his annual "I'm Running For President from now until the season finale of the Apprentice" tour.
The 2016 GOP candidate will be...Paul Ryan.

I do agree that as it currently stands, either Jeb Bush or Paul Ryan would be the most likely candidate for the GOP.

The Republicans choose candidates based on seniority. The unspoken slogan for every Republican candidacy is "It's his turn." I do not think Romney can pull it off again and PalJoey is correct- unless the Frothy Mix makes a miracle.
Really what does it matter? No one, from either party, can possibly beat Hilary.

He's slamming Obama and Hillary for failure in foreign policy.

I realize this comment is a couple months old, but you can't possibly believe this, right? And I say that as a fan of Hillary Clinton.
"Really what does it matter? No one, from either party, can possibly beat Hilary."
Statements like that were also made > 2 years prior to the 2008 election.
^True, but I didn't.
That was 2008, this is now. I didn't say it then because I didn't believe it. I say it now because I do. She's much more powerful and impressive now than she was in 2008 and far more popular.
To put a finer point on it: it's not that it's completely inconceivable that someone could beat Hillary, but it is nearly inconceivable that any of the present likely Repub candidates could.

As of now, Hilary has a party that will fall in line behind her. That could, of course, change if someone even more galvanizing emerges. But the Republican party is still wildly fractured, with no clear front-runner, no clear and consistent message, no solutions or ideas, and it seems unlikely some great uniting candidate will emerge for them.
If Hillary does not run I hope she will announce it very very soon. The Democrats will have to find another candidate to get 'out there' if she decides not to run. Hillary already has a nice little nest egg of contributions and her popularity is stronger than ever. Who can the Democrats persuade if Hillary decides not to run?

Whatever candidate they choose will still get nearly 50% of the votes.
Clinton beats them all in Iowa polling by at least 10 points

What a relief! I'm not even going to bother voting.
Phyllis, there's no point in voting if that's how it's going to be. Thank God, I can just sleep in that day and still get the outcome I want!
Ok, I overstated it. It's not completely outside the realm of possibility that someone will beat Clinton.
But who, if anyone, do you see as being a strong candidate against her? Because I can't think of anyone.
Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren.
I can't think of anyone on the GOP side.
I don't know about Jeb Bush. My ancestors were Republicans dating back, literally, to Lincoln, but my Florida relatives all switched their registrations to Democrat under Jeb Bush. (And, no, they aren't Tea Party types.)

Jeb Bush is quite popular among hispanics... at least in comparison other GOP potentials. They would try to push that if it were Jeb. I doubt it will be, though. Rubio or Ryan seem likely.
