THE OSCAR.....I know you haven't heard of it, but DAMN! That's camp, baby!!
And FOXES with Jodie Foster, Sally Kellerman, Lois Smith, and former Runaway Cherie Currie. It manages to be both screaming camp and terribly moving at the same time. I had forgotten LYLAH CLAIRE and WHERE LOVE HAS GONE...Joey Heatherton being the cherry on top of that oozy orgy of delicious cheese!
Here's a film that combines both the "Mother-daughter fighting over half-naked hunk boyfriend theme" of WHERE LOVE HAS GONE and "Stud-on-the-beach" aspect of LOVE HAS MANY FACES - It's THE FEMALE ANIMAL, where faded film star Vanessa Windsor (Hedy Lamarr) and adopted daughter (Jane Powell...JANE POWELL?!?!) fight over stud Hollywood 'extra' George Nader - who has to decide if he wants to grab his 'big chance' - by making a Mexican film about man-eating orchids.
I am not making this up.

There used to be a monthly feature in Movieline Magazine called "Bad Movies We Love" which produced a paperback book of the same name. (Movieline which used to be a smart alecky magazine has really gone to tasteless vanilla.)
I think every movie mentioned in this thread is in that book.

This thread is back, like an old friend in a chenille duster, mules and pop beads.
I'm the proud owner of a camp favorite that Ms Susann actually ripped off for her "Valley" structure -- "The Best of Everything," with Miss Crawford in rarest of form ever, in the equivalent of the Helen Lawson role. Watch her go after dippily naive Diane Baker -- why aren't lesbians as in love with this one as they should be? Joan's tough, chain-smoking office boss lady is a jewel. Too bad most of her performance was cut out for more Suzy Parker and crowd.
Try "Everything" and "Dolls" as a double feature. The trio of doomed-slash-budding girls vs. savy but sad old bitch parallels abound.

You have to see "Written On the Wind." It's a Douglas Sirk movie that is truly over-the-top, even for him.
There is more crazy drama packed into the TITLE SEQUENCE than there is in most two-hour movies.
And the main draw is Dorothy Malone. She's such a colossal freak in this film! She's supposed to be a Paris Hilton -type "rich girl gone bad." She rolls her eyes and gnashes her teeth like an Effie closing out Act One.
The best part? She actually won an OSCAR for this insane performance.
There is more crazy drama packed into the TITLE SEQUENCE than there is in most two-hour movies.

I actually find Caged too good to be considered "camp". Perhaps some of the line are dated, but there are some truly great performances in it.

I recently saw La Crawford in Trog. What a delicious move!
And 2 favorites from the Shelley Winters pantheon:
Whoever Slew Auntie Roo (her version of the Baby Jane genre)
and my all time favorite camp movie:
Wild In The Streets.
I can not even begin to describe how supremely awful that movie is. It has to be seen.

Whatever happened to Christopher Jones anyway? He was in a David Lean epic and I have never seen him in anything else.
