Posted: 10/4/04 at 3:21pmI always assume that if someone uses the term 'pansy' it means that they think THEIR particular manifestation of existence is what constitutes 'manliness'. Having seen some examples of what Rodney stands for, I am happy to be considered a 'pansy' by him, as I could never exhibit the traits that he would equate with being a 'real man'.

Once again, DG comes through with sanity.
But he still needs to apologize, and more importantly, realize how offensive this is so he doesn't do it again.
It's unacceptable.

“Boobs, I think he went bye-bye for a while”
At least someone was paying attention.
Oh dear,
I guess I’ve gone and pissed everyone off again.
This all started because I used the word “pansy” and a number of people took that to be a homophobic slur and got their panties in a wad over it.
It’s unfortunate because I REALLY don’t have anything against homosexuals. I get pissy sometimes when someone gets all in my face “yea, I gay! You wanna make something of it?” you know what I mean.
I’ve said more than once on this board that I don’t give a shat if gays want to marry, etc.
Someone called me a sexist. Simply not true. I take offense to that.
Someone called me a racist. Simply not true. I take offense to that.
I do, however, refuse to conform to extremely militant political correctness.
I think it’s stupid to say it’s more appropriate to say “female” than “woman.” Both words are rooted in the story of Eve being formed from Adam’s rib.
Someone said that I was inferring a “pansy” is not a “real man.” Not true.
I will now repeat the offending sentence with the word “pansy” replaced in parentheses by a more accurate description of what I meant.
Every time I've dished it out on this forum all the little liberal (people who think that unless your opinions are inline with theirs, you are offensive or stupid) like yourself bash me because only liberal opinions are allowed here.
So really what I meant was not a derogatory word for gay, or wimpy, or whatever.
Some people have suggested that I apologize. Maybe if I had been sent a PM initially that said in a nice way “that word could be misconstrued as something not nice” then I would’ve said. Ok, changed it, and apologized. But since I’ve been berated by so many people, I regretfully refuse to say I’m sorry.
I do not expect an apology from the person who called me rodent. I don’t not expect an apology from the person who said something about my mother.
Sometimes I think the people of this forum simply decided “Oooo we don’t like him. He’s not one of us. Let’s wait for any little thing we can to use against him, and gang up on him and maybe he’ll get pissed and go away.”
I’m still here.
Y’all have a nice afternoon and evening.
I’ll be off until about 9:30 New York time.

"He’s not one of us."
Interesting because I thought he was. I thought it was all part of the sick game some people are playing, and having been playing for several days.

Thanks for trying, Matt.
Should be punished for the rest of her life for, let's face it, poor judgement when she was like 21 or something like that? No.
Will she? Probably.

All the talk of 9" reminds me of a scene from the Golden Girls.
Rose: What was the best sex you ever had, Blanche?
Dorothy: Oh! Way to go, Rose! – Look Blanche, there's only one cheesecake left, so let's make menopause the cutoff point.
Blanche: Best sex... oh, it's just so hard to rate these things. There's degree of difficulty, stylepoints, choice of music... Did they land on their feet during the dismount... Different people have different strength, it's just impossible to tell, but anything over a nine is excellent.
Rose: Over a nine?!
Blanche: Points, Rose. Points!

You know, in my life the one thing I've learned is this:
MEN ARE SO F*CKING STUBBORN.
I don't care who said what in defense and how it offended you rodney.
you started with a slur that shouldn't have been said. Homophobic intentions or not. It SHOULD NOT have been used like that.
Just suck it up and say it was wrong.
Whoever called you a racist/sexist, they can apologize too.
Now let's all stop being stubborn people and back to Monica Lewinksy...

Rodney - I really wasn't going to respond, but since you brought it up in another thread, I'll at least give you the acknowledgement of a reply.
In you own words, what you meant by 'pansy' was "people who think that unless your opinions are inline with theirs, you are offensive or stupid." So, if we were walking down the street together and you said, "Look at that pansy" (if you've used it here, you've used it elsewhere) then I should assume you mean 'that person who is judging me as stupid because I don't agree with them'? Bullsh*t! Despite what anyone thinks of your opinions, you have demonstrated an adeptness and awareness of the english language - up to and including its idioms. Even Webster's gives this as a definition: 2. a) usually disparaging : an effeminate man or boy, b) usually disparaging : a male homosexual. I cannot believe that your use of that term was meant in the way you're trying to pass it off as.
Face it, you have attitudes and opinions that show in your written expressions, and there are some here who take offense to them. Now, could you choose not to use these inflamatory remarks and phrases? Of course you could - but that certainly doesn't mean you have to. BUT, as long as you DO choose to, you really can't be surprised when the reaction is exactly what you have experienced.
However much disdain I have for your expressed opinion, I do ackonwledge that your posts are of a competent mind - so you can be held accountable for them. At the very least, even if you have no remorse for your actions, have the decency (and dare I say b*lls) to stand behind what you write.
