Does anyone agree that 'friends' was "quality" viewing up untill around the fifth season? I can remember so many CLASSIC episodes that fit within this time frame. After that, nothing. It was my faviroute show, then it just died in the ass!!

I loved the show the whole way through, but definitely liked some seasons better than others. "The one with the embryos" in the 4th season, when the boys bet the girls about who knows who better to win the apartment, is by far my favorite episode.
I'm a huge fan, but it definitely did go way downhill.
Liotte, that's my favorite episode as well.
Also...
"what are you doing down here in Chelsea?"
"going to party at a girl's."
"What's her name?"
...
"Chelsea..."

It started going downhill when Monica and Chandler got together. The last season was crapola.
Would love to have their apartment though!
I would love to have their apartment! But in true NY costs, it would be about $6000 a month for something that size!

You can tell that Matthew Perry never had to live in NY apartments.
There is one episode where Chandler answers the door intercom. I have one just like theirs. It has three buttons: one to talk, one to listen, and one to open the door. Chandler hits the button to talk, but never hits the button to listen, yet you can hear the person at the door talking.
I cant remember laughing so harder in an episode, than when Rachel's surprise birthday party is split in two to keep her divorcing parents from running into each other. Monica makes "flan" instead of cake. Phoebe smuggles guests out of Monica's boring party and into Chandler and Joey's raging celebration. Bloody Terrific stuff!
Chandler: "We're on a MAJOR flawn high!
There were so many gems!!

liotte, that is a brilliant, classic episode.
"It started going downhill when Monica and Chandler got together"
Couldn't agree more!
I also really enjoy the episode (I think season 5) with All the Resolutions. Ross wears the leather pants, Rachel can't gossip, Chandler can't make fun of his friends, Joey learns guitar, Phoebe wants to fly a plane, it was just all good fun stuff.
*runs to throw in Friends DVD*
In Oz, Some retail outlets are selling the seasons for $30 bucks. I need to get em.

I liked the episode when Rachel is watching Ben, and she teaches him all these pranks to play, so he plays them on RossSo to get her back, at the end of the episode Ross throws a dummy dressed like him down the stairs. HAHAHAHAHAHA
And I like the one when Ross says that no one can sneak up on him or scar him (something like that) becuase he has or knows unagy (sp). And then Pheobe and Rachel hide in his apartment and jump out from behind the curtains. That was hilarious!!

While I always enjoyed watching all the series, whenever I choose a few episodes to play back, they are inevitably from Seasons 1 and 2. Classic moments were the 'Smelly Cat' video (Phoebe: That song has so many levels), Chandler getting measured up for trousers at Joey's taylor, and I LOVE the lesbian wedding (Chandler: The world is my lesbian wedding). I also liked the way they always got the quieter moments right, too - Mr. Heckles 'We'll try to keep it down'. Just classic sitcom moments.
i also agree that the last few seasons went downhill. Oh the good times of the earlier seasons! I have to admit i love the holiday armadillo!
The one where Mr. Heckles dies in season two will always be my favorite episode because of Pheobe and Ross' debate about evolution.
I think it died down when they had the Joey-Ross-Rachel love triangle.
It was boring to see Joey so upset.
I love "Friends", and I always have. There were times when the show actually drove me to tears.
For example, the last episode. Also the episode where Phoebe says goodbye to her babies (well, not exactly hers...).
"Hello little fetus/Won't you come out to greet us?/I'll buy you lots of Adidas"
Friends is...one of the best sitcoms. EVAR.
In my opinion.
First episode, best line ever:
"I wish I was a lesbian - did I just say that out loud"
"Stop being so testosteroni!"
"Ah, the real San Francisco treat"
FAVORITE PART!!!
Frank Jr.: You know what I love? Stilts.
Phoebe: Stilts?
Frank Jr.: Yeah. This one time, I was getting cigarettes from my mom's purse, and I turned to the window and saw my dad's head go by.
(long pause)
Phoebe: I don't know what to do with that.

They ran the very first episode last night (syndicated reruns). No wonder it was an instant hit - one of the best pilot episodes ever!
I love:
"I am one of Ross's friends"
"Then why aren't you at the wedding?"
"Because I'm having my brother's babies"
