wow, a friends thread. i'm in heaven. i used to be religously obsessed with this show. (i've calmed down since it ended but then my friend realized that we missed the anniversary of the finale and that was upsetting to have forgotten. we were going to watch the finale once a year on it's birthday) we used to play a game where someone says a word and then the other person has to think of a quote from friends with the word in it.

anyway, i think the season that really brought it down was the middle of 7 and then 8. that's when things started getting bad. 9 i think was the worst but it picked up again for 10 which i thought was very good. even when it was down, it was still better than most other comedies, just not like it was at its height in the first few seasons. season 3 was especially good - tow all the football is a true classic.

I'm addicted to Friends. Still. As much as I love the originals, I loved it when Monica and Chandler got together. Possibly my favorite episode is the one where everybody finds out.

every single thanksgiving episode ever!!! When Chandler got his toe cut off, I think they should still do thanksgiving episodes whether the show is off the air or not

My favorite episode (or scene rather) is when Monica thinks she's getting engaged to that really rich guy (the Ultimate Fighter). And then Rachel sort of goes into a daydream state while all the others are chatting away. And all of a sudden she just bursts out and screams and everyone's just...has this look on their face like their heart skipped a couple beats.
The she just replies, "Oh, I was...imagining that I caught the money bouquet."

HA! Thought that was hilarious. And such great timing.

Another favorite was Chandler. When it was something to do with Thanksgiving, and Rachel's sister is over. And one of Monica's plates are broken and she just goes into this...coma, state-of-shock, thing.
Then near the credits, Chandler is all excited because he's "chosen" to be next-in-line for Emma. And in his enthusiasm, he doesn't realize the diaper bag is still wrapped around the chair which has the box of china sitting on top of it.


One step later...

I slightly disagree. I looved the first two seasons, didn't love the third season except for the one where no one's ready and the football episode. Thought the third and fourth seasons were the worst, only ones I like from fourth season is the one with the embryos and the one where Chandler's in a box. Then I liked and enjoyed the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th seasons, didn't watch that much of the last two. Oh well still love this show!

All my favs come for the first two seasons: the poker episode, the one where Ross finds out, Rachel's surprise party and the blackout episode.

Some of the lines are unforgettable..(The pro/con Rachel list) "What's a Rachem?"...the Eddie episodes "I've had it with his moving the mail and his 'See ya, Pals'.."....Rachel's Mum at the Lesbian wedding "I'm not saying it's something I want to pursue, but it's nice to know I have options"....and "So, what's new in sex these days?".....Monica's recipes with Mocklet.."Does it burn when you pee?"....and the episode when Joey and Monica go out on the double date "It's like cocktails in Appalachia"....I also love The One With The Stoned Guy.."Tartlets....tartlets....tartlets" and "Gummie Bears overboard"...(sorry, rambling now)

Also int he lesbian wedding episode - Phoebe possessed by the spirit of the old lady who died during her massage, and wobn't leave until she has seen all the things she missed out on in life. When they get to the lesbian wedding, she says, "Now I've seen everything!", and the spirit is gone!

the Chandler in a box episode does have Monica's finest ever moment, I think, when she explodes and yells something at each of the friends, but I can't remember all of them. It was "ok, married a gay ice dancer, threw a girl's wooden leg on the fire, something else and something else, lives in a box!"

As for the last season, the only time it perked up was when Christina Applegate was in it. Her talking about how Jill had gotten fat was particularly priceless.
