Another one for the 'Wow, Just Wow' file. A GOP Congressman is speaking in the House against public funding for abortion, and one of his arguments is that if such funds had been available, perhaps President Obama or Justice Thomas would never had been born. Really.

One thing I'll say for the GOP ...... just when you thought they couldn't screw themselves any more, another idiot opens his mouth and amazes us with his rhetoric.
I don't understand how they can be so dense that they don't realize that in trying to revive their culture war, they're alienating more and more people.
They aren't alienating more people. They say things that piss people off who already were alienated by them. The GOP has not gotten the black vote, or anywhere near it in quite a while (or ever?), so that is why they can keep doing this. They lose no votes pissing off people who would never vote for them anyway.

Oh well, that's a swell philosophy. They didn't vote for me last time so I'll just spit in their eye and guarantee they don't vote for me next time
no wonder your party is full of self hating idiots
I can say from firsthand experience that they are alienating people, because I am one such person. I've been an independent my entire life, but I can't see myself voting for a Republican candidate for national office based on the current state of the party. The Dems have picked up a +10% advantage in party identification, and independents are abandoning the GOP at an alarming rate. It's naive to think that they're not alienating people.
Well, since Rasmussen now shows their generic ballot with a 3 point advantage, and it shows that the GOP is trusted on 8 out of 10 issues more than the Dems, the GOP is not going to care... at all, about comments that can be construed as "mean" to a group they get less than 10% of the vote of. They lose the black vote every year, so they no longer care. They lose the gay vote, so they no longer care. They lose the hispanic vote, so who cares. I am not saying I agree with this philosophy, I am just giving you the mentality of the GOP as it stands now.
It just shows their assholes for discriminating against ANYONE no matter if they vote or not.
I will disagree that they discriminate (although, to an extent I would agree with the hating gays thing), I just think they say dumb things that sound really really bad... they need to shut up sometimes!
Yes. Put a censor button on them lips.

oh please, they discriminate
stop being stupid.
Yes, your argument there was so convincing. All seven words really changed my entire mindset!
Haha, but no, they don't for the most part.

and that's why you're a ****ing moron.
you probably don't see it because you're just as racist as the rest of them.
I love how I really don't say anything mean, or even offensive, just a calm dissent, and you freak out and start insulting me. I think you are incorrect, I am not racist (btw, love your lack of evidence on that front... at all), and you are being very rude to me for no reason. You can't change people's opinions with mean comments, only thoughtful argument... something you clearly don't use.

you don't have to say anything, you're a self hating homosexual, you're mere existence requires that you be berated on a daily basis.
I am in no way self hating, I have no clue why you think I am, and am sick of having to defend myself against someone who has no respect for anyone who disagrees with them.
I can only assume that "Chance" has gone off his meds. That would be the only possible excuse for his unwarrented rants.
Get well soon, Chance, and go spill your venom elsewhere.

I believe the thread has since been deleted but you expressed, repeatedly, your belief that gays shouldn't be allowed to get married.
that's why you're a self hating homosexual.

So... because I am not for gay marriage, I am automatically self hating? That is you assuming stuff. I am for civil unions with full benefits, I just feel that word should remain what it is. That isn't self hating, that is me being a traditionalist. I really do take serious offense at the people on this board calling me self hating... I am anything but that.

YOU BELIEVE THAT HOMOSEXUALS ARE NOT DESERVING OF EQUAL RIGHTS.
YOU HATE YOURSELF AND THE REST OF US AND DON'T WANT US TO BE EQUAL CITIZENS. YOU ONLY MAKE LIFE HARDER FOR THE REST OF US AND WE WOULD BE BETTER OF IF YOU DIDN'T EXIST.
BAAAAAAAAAACK to the actual topic: GOP = assholes who need to think before they speak
All capital letters makes one sound smart!
No, seriously, what part of what I said did you not get. Same rights, different word. And I am sorry I exist? Not much I can do about that...
Spider- I will agree with that statement minus the name calling haha. They just talk too much, and say the dumbest most offensive things. I refused to listen to Bush make even one speech... it always killed me a little inside.

SEPARATE IS NOT EQUAL.
You may not have learned that in your red neck, hick history classes, but we tried that before AND IT DIDN'T WORK.
If it's all the same, why not give it the same name?
