This is just too unreal.
Perhaps this is the first step in one long big slide that will result in Cheney having to step aside "for health reasons."
The fact that he even has a loaded gun in his hands is also a bit frightening.

Gun control. Even for quail hunters.
What do people do after they shoot quail. Do they eat them? Or is it just hunting and shooting for the thrill of the kill?

You think *that's* scary? The man is one heartbeat away from having his trigger finger on the Red Button.

Posted: 2/12/06 at 4:10pmI love quail, but they are so small - wouldn't the buck shot tear the meat - that is gross.

This happened almost 24 hours ago, too...and it's just being reported now?
I hear the victim is a lawyer, too.

Posted: 2/12/06 at 4:15pmWell, there is scary - i.e., Cheney, three heart attacks later and with a pacemaker, holding a gun, and then there is terrifying - Cheney and Bush.

Someone adept at corrupting existing commercial art, find THE DEER HUNTER lobby card and do something provocative.
Or maybe THE MOOSE MURDERS?.
Or how about THE LAST OF MRS CHENEY?Lyn better be carefuly when her Dick wanders off to take a leak in the wee hours. He might get confused and think she's a dozing Whitetail. Doe, that is.

Posted: 2/12/06 at 4:51pmSuch an understated title. Tsk. :) I was going to go with "Dick Cheney shoots a man," or something along those lines. Surreality on this level doesn't come along every day.

Ahhh, don't get me started . . .
I am sure the Board is monitored and I don't want to go to jail!

I have no doubt that this Board is monitored.
Namo, Quail'08 - that is hilarious!

Iflit, a wag on the DL reports that the place Cheney goes quail hunting features farm-raised quail with clipped wings.
Ah, the sporting life.

I just want you all to know I was on that hunting trip with the Vice Pres today, but it's all right. He missed.
This time.

#22re: More trouble for Cheney?
Posted: 2/12/06 at 6:45pmSo, the guy that Cheney shot in the cheek, neck, and chest, is a lawyer active in Republican politics, who Bush, as governor, once named to the Texas Funeral Commission. I'm finding that amusing...

This is what I find truly funny, in a sick twisted sort of way, since many Americans cannot afford insurance or basical medical attention:
"Fortunately, the vice president has got a lot of medical people around him and so they were right there and probably more cautious than we would have been," she said. "The vice president has got an ambulance on call, so the ambulance came."
Goodness, it must be nice to never have to live in the real world.
