re: More trouble for Cheney?

Every day in every way, I love David Gregory of NBC more and more and more...

---

Why was the White House relying on a Texas rancher to get the word of Cheney's hunting accident out over the weekend, asked Gregory, accusing McClellan of "ducking and weaving.'

"“David, hold on… the cameras aren't on right now,' McClellan replied. "You can do this later.'

"Don't accuse me of trying to pose to the cameras,' the newsman said, his voice rising somewhat. "Don’t be a jerk to me personally when I’m asking you a serious question.'

"You don't have to yell,' McClellan said.

"I will yell,' said Gregory, pointing a finger at McCellan at his dais. "If you want to use that podium to try to take shots at me personally, which I don’t appreciate, then I will raise my voice, because that’s wrong.’’

‘’Calm down, Dave, calm down,' said McClellan, remaining calm throughout the exchange.

"I'll calm down when I feel like calming down,' Greogry said. "You answer the question.'

"I have answered the question,' said McClellan, who had maintained that the vice president's office was in charge of getting the information out and worked with the ranch owner to do that. "I'm sorry you're getting all riled up about.'

"I am riled up,' Gregory said, "because you’re not answering the question,'

McClellan insisted he understood that reporters deserve an answer.

"I think you have legitimate questions to ask,' the press secretary said. "The vice president’s office was the one that took the lead to get this information out… I don’t know what else to tell you... That's my answer.'

No lights, no cameras, but plenty of action at the White House

McClellan is a puppet just like the rest of them.

Also kind of curious as to how the White House would have handled things had Whittington had unfortunately been killed.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

from one of my vast right wing conspiracy blogs...

"has anyone suggested that the entire birdshot incident was orchestrated by karl rove so that dick cheney could be replaced as vp with his favorite 2008 candidate? after all, every moonbat, er, everyone knows that nothing happens in the realm of this universe, much less in the administration, without karl rove’s fingerprints being all over it."

New bumpersticker/t-shirt for sale at moveon.org?

I got shot by Dick Cheney!

Gotta keep irrelevant scandal alive if you want to take back the White House...as we have all learned. (Hmm, let's see, what's worse? Pellets in the face or blow jobs in the oval office? I think we all know which one we would rather have.)

YWIW...yes but we don't want to be reminding people of that old scandal now do we? I mean, it's so 90"s.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Some wags are speculating that maybe Dick was drunk and the decision to "let the rancher inform the media" was merely to get some sobering up time. I'm not saying. I mean, I'm sure the VP knows it's illegal to use a firearm while drunk. Right?

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Figures. I was talking to a friend from upstate NY who said that pretty much all the hunting accidents that happen in her area (and there are a few every year) happen because someone was drunk while shooting. On the other hand, he must be on some kind of heart medication; wouldn't that react badly to alcohol?

He doesn't strike me as the kind of man who follows no stinkin doctor's orders.

Namo, very soon Mr. Cheney will be advised as to the consequences of breaking laws.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Yes, but in fairness to Darth Vadar, they actually did occur in his early 20's - as opposed to Bush's binges.

The whole stinkin' White House is nothin' but a bunch of unrecovered alcoholics who lie, like every other addict.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Brdlwyr - I would figure that there was consent for the dislosure - I don't have the form in front of me, but how much you bet that they got him to permit disclosures to the public of his medical condition as part of getting treatment - especially when Darth Vadar's doctors and medical team got a hold of him!

Best headline I've seen related to Vice President Buckshot was just on Anderson Cooper's show:

Cheney's Got a Gun

Pahaha. Now that is like the greatest headline ever.

That's going in my AIM profile.

PalJoey's Prediction: Cheney's drunken shooting will force him to resign.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

The Daily show was pretty funny tonight on Dickie boy.

They called him "Dead-Eyed Dick."

"The Vice-President Shot a 78 Year Old Man in the Face."

Said it about 10 times.

I love Jon Stewart.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Maybe he did it on purpose, so that Bush will pick a new VP and then when he is impeached - Ralph Reed will be President!

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Actually, Papa has already said that the Republican Blogs are all saying that this is merely a ploy to get some young, up and comer into the VP seat.

But, I wonder if the guy who got shot in the face had any idea?
#97

re: More trouble for Cheney?

why not just have him resign for health reasons, or give him a fatal heart attack.
when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Hopefully the cabinet will find he is incompetant to fulfill his duties as VP and impeach Bushman and Cheneyboy.

re: More trouble for Cheney?

Regarding Papa's earlier comment about the Republicans' inate response of: "Remember Ted Kennedy and Mary what's-her-name."

That's become their number one answer to any situation that they can't answer. And if that doesn't work, the next step is to remind everyone that Robert Byrd used to be in the Ku Klux Klan.

Well. I'm no fan of Byrd, and Ted Kennedy has never impressed me. But they're mere senators. Only the GOP can boast a wild gunman in its No. 2 slot, and a former cokehead in the No. 1 slot, both of whom have had a recorded affinity for driving under the influence.
