Most Inexplicable Celebrity Cameo?

Ever see a movie and see perhaps the most unexplainable celebrity cameo?

As in you have absolutely no idea why the celebrity is cameoing?

My pick would have to be a tie between Lemony Snicket in which it seems as if Dustin Hoffman was just walking along and they asked him if he wanted to be in a movie.

Or

Jason Schwartzman's 2 second performance in Hitchhiker's in which he says "Zaphod is a guy..." in a strange accent before the film moves on. What the hell, man?

Melissa Joan Heart in Not Another Teen Movie was pretty random!

Nah MJH was totally appropriate. They kept putting stars from the movies they were spoofing in as cameos to add to the humor. Like at the end with Molly Ringwald. It was priceless. I love it.

Dustin Hoffman in Lemony Snicket was one that I can't explain.

Also, Bette Midler in What Women Want was a big surprise. If she had a bigger role in that movie, it could have been her best performance in years.

Jodie Foster in A Very Long Engagement speaking all her dialogue in French threw me for a loop. Have they run out of French actresses?

How about Gary Shandling in Zoolander or Glenn Close in HOOK.

Madonna on WILL AND GRACE. Did they really need her for that role? Her performance was completely amateurish. I cringed through the entire thing.

Ted Danson in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN..it's like, "What the hell's SAM doing here???"

Naomi Campbell in GIRL 6...although the Madonna cameo is actually one of her better perfs.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

I agree with you on Madonna in Girl 6. She was pretty good.

This goes considerably further back, but what the hell was Marlene Dietrich doing in Touch of Evil as a Mexican?
