All of the scenes mentioned so far plus:
At the end of Spirited Away, when Chihiro has to leave Haku.
In Toy Story, when Woody and Buzz finally make it home.
At the end of The Lion King, when Simba is at the top of Pride Rock and you here Mufasa say "Remember", then Simba does his roar.
At the beginning of Finding Nemo, when that baracuda attacks, then Marlon wakes up to only find Nemo left.

Who would play you in the movie? "Taye Diggs." --Brian d'Arcy James

I guess people were thinking more of animated films as opposed to other Disney movies.
But I did think Old Yeller was depressing. But the one live-action dog-related movie I WILL NOT watch because it's so depressing and I'm not sure if it's Disney , but the movie version of "Where the Red Fern Grows" is traumatic.

Oh God, I forgot Old Yeller. That is so devastating, and Tommy Kirk was so good (and so attractive).
I literally cannot watch the "Baby Mine" sequence in Dumbo without sobbing hysterically. I had a Disney class a year or so ago and the professor showed that scene. I had to look away, and even then I was crying my eyes out.
"When She Loved Me" in Toy Story 2 is another one. Beautiful song. Randy Newman should have won the Oscar for that.
How about when Toaster gets crushed in the gears trying to save the Master's life in The Brave Little Toaster? Or when Lampy gets struck by lightning trying to save Blanky?

I will not watch Old Yeller. I refuse. I know it will destroy me, so I've just decided to save myself the tears.
And Disney recently did a direct-to-video version of Where The Red Fern Grows. I saw an older version when I was in 6th grade and I can't watch any version again.

Posted: 8/28/06 at 8:29pmI totally forgot about the Brave Little Toaster!! I saw it once when I was 5. Once. I couldn't watch it anymore because I was a sobbing mess. Come to think of it, there were a lot of one-shot movie viewings in my childhood...

Posted: 8/28/06 at 8:29pmOoh! I just thought of another one. In The Secret Garden (starring History Boy Andrew Knott), Mary at one point has a dream about her younger self being abandoned by her mother. Baby Mary starts to cry for her mommy and I freaking fall apart.

The ones that deal with abandonment or otherwise leaving someone behind always kill me.
Like in "When She Loved Me," I always start to break down when the scene fades to Jessie and Emily in the car, just like old times, and Jessie is in heaven. Then you can see the confusion on her face as they get out, and then the devastation dawns on her as Emily drives off after leaving her by the side of the road.
And her line "You never forget kids like Andy or Emily...but they forget you" is like the final punch to the gut.
