Movie Trivia

A cigar to Mr Alberto for his guess of Christopher Plummer

Movie # 1 was The Fall Of The Roman Empire. Richard Harris was offered the role of the crazy emperor Commodus . He turned it down & it went to Plummer who chews the scenery like crazy. He is the best part of the movie except for the eye popping sets & action sequences. His entry into a 3D & not computer generated Rome is something to behold

Movie # 2 was the musical Dr Dolittle. Rex Harrison balked when Alan Jay Lerner pulled out. Plummer was hired but before filming started Harrison decided he would do it as he liked the score Bricusse did . 20 th Century Fox was contractually obligated to pay his salary. He got $ 300,000 for not appearing in what might have been a career ending turkey. It basically killed Harrisons career as a leading man in movies.

Roxy, I find your every utterance absolutely fascinating. I wouldn't miss a pearl of wisdom for anything. After yesterday's post, you're practically my life coach now. But why do I bother typing this. You have me blocked and can't see my answer.

Speaking of the METS Roxy, how about coming on here today to compliment them for sweeping Washington and getting into a tie for first place. You're the first to rip them with your complete lack of baseball knowledge and ridiculous logic but you're never heard from when they're doing well. Why is that? A casual observer might just say you're only happy when you're complaining... about everything. But I think there is so much more to you than that. Why not show us?
