"And Alexander! Ahhh!!"
No one liked "Alexander".
Oh, jeez. I hated "Citizen Kane", as well. Best movie of all time, my foot.
PS - Am I the only person on this board who thinks that the "LotR" movies are awesome?

Everybody told me that Rosemary's Baby was really really scary...so I got all excited to watch it. I did...and I was not in the least bit scared. Just a little dizzy from the freaky camera work. So now I have a distaste for it.
Oh, and I didn't like Meet the Parents at all.

Posted: 3/25/05 at 11:51amI hate it when a movie is built up and sucks. I was very excited to see 'The Grudge' and hated it.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

Being John Malkovich
Can you see a pattern there?

Popcultureboy, I totally agree with you.
My friend made me watch Adaptation, and then got all pissy when I fell asleep through it.

popculture-
I take it you don't enjoy Mr. Kaufman. I hated "Being John Malkovich", but "Adaptation" and "Eternal Sunshine..." are amazing movies.
"Nah, there are all sorts of fifteen year-old girls on the board who also love those movies"
Try switching the sex and adding 4 years.

Uh oh. I'm not 15 years old but I loved the LoTR movies. Clearly, I'm mentally stunted.
#36re: Movies you don't like
Posted: 3/25/05 at 1:45pmI liked 'Being John Malkovich,' I liked parts of 'Adaptation' (mostly the parts with Nic Cage being angsty) but I thought 'Eternal Sunshine' was a grand slam.

Mystic River? That movie displays the FINEST acting and directing in any movie I have seen in YEARS...how could anyone not like it?
But I totally agree with:
Lost in Translation - total crap
I Heart Huckabees - what's the point? terrible
Anchorman - yes justice, completely not funny.
And to add to my previous list:
The Royal Tenenbaums

Posted: 3/25/05 at 8:08pmMunk...The acting is superb. ANd the directing is great. Character development is great. But I HATE HATE HATE the ending.
#43re: Movies you don't like
Posted: 3/25/05 at 8:17pmoh yes,.....Hated The Blair Witch Project....I was LIVID after I saw that!
#44re: Movies you don't like
Posted: 3/25/05 at 8:22pmI forgot to add BLAIR WITCH to my list. Also, that piece of sh*t film UNBREAKABLE.
#45re: Movies you don't like
Posted: 3/25/05 at 8:29pmmatakealookatme: Well the ending isn't the movie's fault, it's Dennis Lehane, the novel's author. So it's not the movie you hate, it's the novel....

Munk, LOST IN TRANSLATION and ROYAL TENENBAUMS were each my favorite movie of the year when they were released.
And to borrow a review from another film, UNBREAKABLE was "a hamfisted, ideologicaly repugnant waste of celluloid."
#49re: Movies you don't like
Posted: 3/25/05 at 9:07pmI forgot about how much I hated Punch Drunk Love
#50re: Movies you don't like
Posted: 3/25/05 at 9:07pmMatt: I found absolutely nothing redeemable in either TRANSLATION or TENENBAUMS...I like the second FAR better, but I thought both of them were just dreck.
