Music that has moved you.

What music has moved you? Weather to tears or elation? I am sitting here listening to a Nancy Lamott cd. And her rendition of" Listen to my heart" has me weeping. It is so gorgeous.

re: Music that has moved you.

Last weekend I was moved to tears by the soundtrack of Finding Neverland.

OMG! A flood of tears!

And, Nancy Lamott always makes me weep...

I sing for myself. I sing when I want, whenever I want to, just for me. I sing for my own pleasure. Do you understand that?

"Unusual Way" from Nine always gets me. As for un-showtunes music, Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me."

re: Music that has moved you.

Is this a broad topic? Or is this supposed to be about Broadway cast recordings/soundtracks?

I think I've read tons about what others think about musicals (duh!), and it would be quite interesting to hear about what is listened to other than showtunes. (Even if it doesn't happen very often!) re: Music that has moved you. hee hee.

I really love Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd and Bob Marley. ANYTHING by Bob Marley! They both really move me. Also this is more to my age group, I think, but the lyrics of American Idiot by Green Day are superb.

oh yes! "Moon River". Brilliant song!

and "Feed the Birds". Absolute tear-jerker. So beautiful.

I also get all choked up at "Here Comes the Sun" - for personal reasons.

So many songs and scores!

Also, moved me to excitement - the Back to the Future theme blasting while I drive really fast.

Someof Yolanda Adams recordings have a emotional impact on me. Carol Kings Tapstry album from start to finish is jubilation for me.

Judy at the Palace singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow - such desperation in her voice, it couldn't be more moving...

I'm only 18 and so far away from having children of my own, but Ben Folds' "Still Fighting It" twists my heart.

I absolutely agree with Ben Folds, Taryn. Their most moving song for me is "Brick."

Nearly anything by Queen. I like harmony.

And Children of Eden's finale.

I don't know if I'm moved by it or not, but I cry like a baby at the sad songs in Last 5 Years. Like a baby.

re: Music that has moved you.

Strangely, I almost wanted to cry during the overture of Ragtime at the Paper Mill this past weekend. But that wasn't just the music- it was the staging, too. It was amazing to see what I'd only heard on CD so perfectly rendered in the theater.

"Both Sides Now" Joni Mitchell

When I first heard "Seasons of Love," I was totally floored.

Also the first time I heard "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and "It is Well with My Soul." My favorite songs.
Yes, I'm pinay. And I'm proud of it!
