My list could go on forever - music is what reaches me the most.
Off the top of my head, the most impactful would definitely be Beethoven's Ninth Symphony - every emotion in the book. And by the end, I have 'touched the face of God', as they say.

Oh this thread reminded me of a few months ago when I was watching Oliver and Company on tv...the begining has this heartbreaking scene where Oliver is in a box and watches all his brothers and sisters get taken to good homes and he's all by himself...I can't for the life of me remember the song that was playing but the scene BROKE my heeart!!

DG, we opened Caramoor Music Festival last week with Beethoven's Ninth. It was sublime. And, hard to sing when you have a lump in your throat because you are just transported by it!

Addy - this weekend, a friend and I were marveling at the reinvention of "Both Sides Now" that Ms. Mitchell created. And then we devolved into a full-blown rant about how even though she is worshipped by her devotees, she doesn't get nearly the acclaim of bob Dylan - and I'd pit her against him ANY day!
