I'm in high school and our drama club is putting on a musical.
Thing is, we're composed mostly of girls, and well, everyone wants to at least sing a song, if not a solo. Could anyone suggest a musical with lots of ensemble songs, at least four female leads and few male roles? Thank you!
I would also like an answer to this question, so BUMP!
Follies
CHICAGO has only one major male role (Blly Flynn), and it's set in a women's prison.

Nine has only one male role although it is a killer since he is onstage and involved with the action virtually the entire time. There are about 15-20 women's roles.
Jerry's Girls is a revue of Jerry Herman theatre songs that was devised for an all women cast. There are three principals and the chorus is all women. You could carve out a few more principal roles.

Annie
Thorougly Modern Millie
Once Upon a Mattress (girls can play the Minstrel, Jester, and Wizard)
Hello, Dolly (if your girls are willing to play male waiters)
Quilters (which has no guys)
Nunsense
or, if so many girls want a solo song, you can just make your own revue
