The USPS does Sunday deliveries for Amazon and that has changed their financial situation. Of course, they'll eventually be replaced by drones.

SOMMS, sure you've had nothing but good service from the USPS. In fact, maybe a great portion of the population has had good service. But the amount of us who have complaints are too many to ignore, IMO.
And- I bet in time, there will be no delivery service. We'll all have to go pick up our mail at some location. That's fine with me.

I have had mostly great experiences with USPS, but when they f**k up, they f**k up baaad.
Still, I'll take them over the fascist unholy terror that is UPS any day.

They have lost so much mail, and ruined packages for me. The worst was shipping 4 boxes to myself from out of state. 3 of the boxes had CD's in the a and arrived fine. But the 4th box as filled with personal items that were my grandfathers and passed down to me. That box a roved a week later, shaped like a kidney with a giant hole in the side that had been taped over. The box also was stained for some liquid. Everything inside was crushed or mangled. I bought insurance for it, but they demanded that I hand over the items to them first before paying me. They were irreplaceable. His pocket watch from WWII, his shoe shine kits, binoculars in a vintage case (perfect for Indiana Jones)' etc.
The USPS Is run by Satan.

Posted: 6/25/15 at 1:32pmWhat would be the need of having mail delivered twice daily now when we have so much done electronically? As it is, it seems like M-F gets the job done. We don't get package delivery through postal service here. We get a notice in the mail and then we go pick it up at a grocery or convenience store in a central location. The difference is that that location has wonderful hours. They are open from 8-7 Monday through Saturday and until 2 on Sunday. If the US could provide something like that, it would make life easier. In NJ, the post office near me was only open from 10-4, M-F. It was just stupid.

Great! Just what we want. To pick up our mail from 7-11.

You can buy stamps at CVS and other outlets so that shows you the direction the USPS is going.

These are the people who you have turned your healthcare over to.
I didn't turn my health care over to the post office or the federal government. I still have United Healthscare like I have for almost 15 years or so. And if my employer didn't foot most of the cost, I would gladly switch to an affordable government plan after the hell my doctors and I have been through (and continue to go through) with United.

I do not know where you live Son but I live in Queens in NYC where there are a lot of post offices. If someone lives in a rural area, I can see selling them in a grocery store. If you are in a large metro area, it seems to stand out more when you get your stamps at a drug store.
To Matt, my wife & I are both on social security - hers reduced due to early retirement. She also has a SMALL pension. In the eyes of the government, we earn to much even though only she applied for it. The Affordable premium goes up to about $ 650 a month in January. Thank God she turns 65 in March and will go on Medicare where she no longer has to pay it. Calling it affordable is a misnomer

Ummm. Head, sidewalk.
It's important for everyone to know, and perhaps somebody can remind him, that even though Roxy's first wife died of cancer, he famously has said that nobody has a right to health care. So I assume that includes wife #2?

Not to mention that Medicare comes from the government and I know - because Roxy has posted it about 9000 times - that the scariest words in the world are "I'm from the government and I'm here to help." To scary. To to scary.

Oh, yes. Thank God she'll won't have to pay for healthcare from a national social insurance program administered by the federal government. As for the "Affordable" premium, how much would her premiums be through private health care? $650 is WAY cheaper than it was in 2011 for my plan through COBRA when I lost my job. In the private health care market of 'Murrica, that $650 IS considered affordable.

We have a difference of opinion here.
My wife paid cobra until it ran out for awhile .While it is cheaper, it is still not "affordable" to many.

I can't tell whether you are joking or are that clueless.
First of all, you used to have a choice. You could choose United, you could choose not to have health insurance, you could choose another policy. Now you have no choice.
Second, if you turn your healthcare over to the government, it will be run just like the post office. Because the government can't do anything correctly. It's too big.
Go back and read some of the stories in this post about the government run post office. Why do you think your healthcare will be any different?

I can't tell if you are joking or really that clueless. Oh wait, yes I can! You actually regurgitate what Fox News yells at you. If you don't have a choice, too bad for you, I guess. The truth is, I have choices that differ very VERY slightly from those I previously had. The major difference is the additional choice of the Affordable plan and the health insurance penalty should I CHOOSE not to have coverage (my penalty would be roughly 2.5% of what I would have to pay for a private monthly premium not subsidized by my employer).
Second, if you turn your healthcare over to the government, it will be run just like the post office.
If your crystal ball's so accurate, why haven't you won the lottery yet? Why don't Republicans ever say this about the armed forces? That's run by the federal government, but then it's all patriotism, flag-waving, protecting our God-given Constitutional 'Murrican rights and freedomses and support for war.
It's too big.
So is my magic meat stick, but nobody bitches about that. I will admit, they do moan most of the time, however.

Because my health care is private and not that pansy Medicare crap run by socialist devil-worshipping commies.
