re: My cat snores

I've gotten the cat I sit for hooked on Smartfood (cheese popcorn).

I've told her owners I take full responsibility and will pay for her rehab.

re: My cat snores

For some reason Stoli, (named after the Vodka because he is a Russian Blue and so damn goofy) likes Martini olives. When I have a drink he is dumping his paw in it half the time trying to pull out the damn olive . . . or maybe it is the Gin he is after . . . maybe should have named him Bombay . . .

BTW Rath, sorry about your cat. I know it can be tough to loose a pet.

RAVE ABOUT YOUR CATS

My male cat used to eat popcorn, the female, too if it had butter on it.

He used to eat potato chips, Doritos, Cheetos, crackers, even bread if you hand-fed him and you were eating it.

The female loved to eat the cantaloupe rind when you were done with the melon.

They hated anything citrus and would RUN from oranges, etc.

Oh, yeah, and they threw up a lot.

(They had canned food, dry food, anything we ate that they wanted, etc. and the female would chew grass outdoors.)

My cats loved catnip.

It made them very silly and dizzy.

You wondered what they were seeing when they walked funny.

RAVE ABOUT YOUR CATS

Pet people are wonderful! We have four cats and a dog. I'm rejoicing right now because our dog Chulo is 11 and though he has a serious med problem, went through some tests this week and the news was all good! Better than we'd expected! And the cats are my babies. About snoring, our 6 pound Persian, Aisling (pronounced Ashleen) snorts, snores and makes all kinds of noises. She also screeches like a banshee when she's unhappy with someone (usually our calico, Bonnie). Very vocal and a complete diva. I adore her!

RAVE ABOUT YOUR CATS

We just got a cat this weekend (Saturday)

The shelter claims he's 4, but I don't buy it (I think he's younger)

One thing's for certain: He's a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

1) He CONSTANTLY kneads. You know, that things cat's do where they massage the pillow they're sitting on with their front paws.

2) He doesn't seem to understand the basic cat game, Hunt Stalk Pounce Kill.

3) He does not self-groom at ALL

We theorize that he was taken away from his mother too early and therefore didn't learn these things from her. Does that make sense?

Yeah, very possible. The kneading is a habit from their infancy, and it sounds like Mom didn't teach him how to groom. My cat CONSTANTLY grooms, so his mother taught him well.

Sounds like you have a challenge ahead of you. Just be sure to brush him pretty regularly.

Good luck and congrats on your new kitty.

RAVE ABOUT YOUR CATS

My cats are so cute. My roommate and I have two, Lolita and Jenna Jameson, and I have no idea how I could have ever gotten along without them.

My Lo is a mega witch, but she's incredibly gorgeous and has these sporadic moments of kindness. (She needs kitty anti-depressants.) She also has a nervous habit of licking all of her fur off her tummy and in weird spots on her legs. Lo also curses a lot at us (we're pretty sure she's called us See You Next Tuesdays), but her favorite is the f-bomb.

JJ is a little black fluffball who walks around from room to room, crying in her tiny little kitty voice. I don't know why, since she knows my roommate and I are in the living room, but I guess she's just checking to see if anyone else is around. She and our toilet were pretty hot and heavy in the summer months. She and Justin (yes, we named the toilet) spooned whenever it got too hot. However, she seems to have lost interest and has moved on to the bathtub. But she and Justin are still friends. JJ also has a little pig filled with cat nip and sometimes she hugs it while she's sleeping.

They're both disgustingly adorable. I can't wait to go home now, so that I can torment them with hugs and kisses.

No one will EVER EVER love you like your cat does.

RAVE ABOUT YOUR CATS

Yes yes yes we named our cat Fiyero! I know-- It was my boyfriend, but he made the absolutely right choice! Fiyero has a royal bearing and he is constantly "Dancing through Life": He dances back and forth when you pet him. If it makes you happy, we call him "Buddy" mostly.

As for the Kneading-- Fiyero does it so much I did some research on it-- Some people call it "Baking Biscuits" because the cat's paws look like they are kneading invisible dough. Vets speculate that a cat does this only when he is at his very happiest: Cats' earliest memories are of being with their mothers, drinking her warm milk; when they nurse, kittens "Knead" the mother's belly to help the milk to flow. Hence, when adult cats are very content, they are subconsciously reminded of that happy time and begin to "knead" in response.

It made me happy to learn that: I'm glad to know he's as happy with us as we are with him.

RAVE ABOUT YOUR CATS

anyone notice how cats when lick themselves in their privates, legs up, they suddenly stop, turn and look at you, and stare......as if to say "jealous?"

was talking to a catholic high school in the LA area on the phone........the cat starts howling in the hall.....the customer asks me...'what are you killing?'

ah, the joys of a cat!
