I agree with Namo. I know it mite be anoyying but many people get there headshots done professional. Take Janneys for example. Her headshot probly had nothing to do with her standing ovataians but you will never know till after curtain call when the audience is on there feet.
I never seen a audience stand for a headshot like yours.
But I bet you had a blast at the park and the Brodway in the Park couldnt have went out with a bigger bang!
Yea, stay in school. By the way, my previous post in this thread was not a suggestion on the size of your headshot, but a test. Do you know the answer?

This is not a 'headshot', it's a picture that contains your head.
You need to understand what is expected of a professional actor. Go to the backstage.com message boards and spend a couple of weeks just reading. You will learn a ton.

There is an axiom in business that you should go to work dressed for the job you want, not the job you have. If the boss wears a suit, wears a suit, even if everyone in the office wears jeans.
In theater I think it's be as professional as you WANT to be, not as you are. You never know who you are going to work with in a college or community show who will later end up directing Wicked. You do not want Joe to remember you as "that guy with that fuzzy head shot."

^ Exactly.
I mean, it's an okay picture, but if you had a different setting/background and it weren't so fuzzy and perhaps if you had a different expression - it could work.
Now, I've done my own headshots before (because I'm flat broke and can't afford anything) and they've turned out really well. It's about knowing what angle looks good, what expression works and how to correctly use your editting tools. Too much looks overdone and tacky.

"have them use a the black & white setting"
Black and white headshots are a thing of the past now. You rarely see them, and the casting people I know have now reached the point where they assume your headshot is really out of date if it's still in black and white.

I would definitely recommend going to a professional headshot photographer. I know it can be tough to shell out the money but in the end it will make a really big difference! Most casting directors will take you completely out of the running if you don't have a professional looking headshot. It is an investment that you make to your career as an actor.
I had my headshots done recently by Lev from www.gornphoto.com
I would recommend Lev to anyone looking for really great headshots that won't break the bank - his price is normally $495 but he is offering $50 off to anyone that books their session with a friend, so I only ended up paying $445 which is so much cheaper than any of the other photographers I considered going to-especially considering the quality of his shots.
Check him out and see for yourself!

I agree.
But then I would: I'm British and I think teeth are so over-rated.
