Obama's character remains intact. The Wright non-controversey is just that! The racists that would not vote for Obama are using his former pastor as an excuse.
The contest is good for the party - thousands of new voters in each contested state.
Why would the middle 20% who decide each Presidential election choose McCain over the Democrat just because supporters are passionate?

ya mean the racists he's losing basically 60-25? y'know, white people?
hey, i want him in the general. he'll lose catastrophically.
how many of those new voters were republicans crossing over to screw with y'all's primaries who have no intention of voting democrat in the general?
like i said, send us young bammy. please.

brd--face it: if Obama is the candidate, we lose the white house.
Do the math. There's no calculation by which he takes the Electoral College.
None of the Obama sites offer a plausible Electoral scenario.
The whole Obama-as-nominee thing is an exercise in "How Democrats Lose Elections on the Illusion of Principle."
We feel good from the convention through November 4, then get to play victim for another 3 years until the next campaign begins.
For some reason, Democrats never get sick of it.

I don't care what the polls say... HILLARY WILL NEVER WIN AGAINST McCAIN! The Republican slime machine will eat her alive. They'll go after her without mercy. They certainly have before. But with Obama, they'll have to be a little more careful about how they go about discrediting him for fear of coming off as racist. They also won't have his past record to scrutinize and pick apart, like they will hers (and Bill’s. You know guilt by association.) And what the hell is so friggin' special about Hillary any way? Universal Health Care was her pet project as First Lady and she failed miserably. So why should I believe that she'll be any more successful as President? What exactly has she done to convince so many of you that she's a better candidate than Obama? As far as I’m concerned she’s one shady lady. Oh yeah… and let’s not forget... a LIAR!

Hillary is much more likely to win against McCain.
Obama cannot win in the Electoral College. She can take all the Swing States from McCain. Obama will lose them.
Your Hysterical Hillary Hatred invalidates your arguments.
You sound like Ann Coulter, vintage 1998.

PJ... grow up and quit the name-calling. It's really very unbecoming. And just because Obama didn't win certain swing states up against Hillary doesn't mean that he won't win them up against McCain. And I think you're smart enough to know that.

Just watching Hillary on O'Reilly alone shows how commanding she would be as President.
I have such a gay crush on her. Even more so than I do for Madonna.

Hey, I have an idea!? Shove your "Hillry hatred" bull**** up you tired ass. Barack Obama didn't say he had an "Aura of Invincibility." The press did. So now that's his fault too?
And sure, go ahead, let the lying bitch who is the most hated political figure of our time steal the nomination and run the Democratic party into the ground. Again.
Sorry that's not really accurate- she's not the most hated Politcal Figure of our time. She's the most hated political figure of ALL time. And PJ, you yourself have said it over and over. How in the world do you think this loathed creature will cross party lines to win?

more so than George W and Cheney?
She won't be stealing the nomination. She's more likely to beat McCain.

well, that's what's interesting. We don't call him names even though he has been guilty of lying and scandals.
We certainly don't go racist about him despite others who go misogynist on her.

Ain't it? I guess it's because most Hillary supporters don't actually hate Obama. They just find him ineffectual. I don't get what the big deal is, as his supporters clearly find him ineffectual as well, since they're always accusing Hillary of being calculating in her bid toward the White House, implying that ol' Bammy's just moseyin' along, not breaking a sweat.

Either can beat McCain.
Once a nominee is decided attention will be turned to McCain, who has to deal with fallout from GWB and Iraq. It will be Dems speaking unity and human rights v Reps speaking war, hatred, and greed.
It's now been shown Obama doesn't do well under pressure. He's not ready yet. Let him have a few more years to learn.

The fact of the matter is she is one of, if not the most, polarizing political figures ever. She can't even unify the Democratic Party, let alone bring Democrats and Republicans together or unite a very divided country. I believe that many Hillary supporters are just jonesing for the good ol' days of Bill. But you can't go home again. I'd rather move forward and look ahead to the future than look back and try to relive the past. If Obama wins the Presidency, maybe in four years I’ll be saying that he’s as full of s#!t as the next guy (or gal); but I’d like to give him a chance and see if maybe… just maybe... he can make a real difference and make some significant changes. With Hillary, I already know what I’m going to get; another 4 to 8 years of hard earned tax-payer dollars going to paying for Independent Prosecutors and other witch-hunters looking for something… anything… to pin on her.

Luscious, it's the Republicans, particularly the Administration, who have been grinding their axes so hard that the parties and the country cannot unify.
I suspect that might quickly change once GWB is gone, but in the meantime he will have cost his party a lot of trust and good faith, and if a Dem candidate leans too far right to try to capture crossover votes, they, too, will lose the trust and faith of the people.
Almost all politicians are on shaky ground with the people now, they cannot afford to squander what little goodwill remains.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand what the hell Guam has to do with the American Presidential race?
And I have really grown to NOT like Michelle Obama. I don't trust that woman. at. all.

"I think the ugliest thing that the Obama campaign did was to exploit the irrational hatred of Hillary Clinton."
"They took the old hatred was that was used by Republicans in the 90s and gave it a new spin and made it their rallying cry, and then it was picked up by Olbermann, Kos, Marshall, Aravosis and Huffintgton. From them it went on to the nameless faceless commentators on the blogs, who are every bit as vicious as the right-wing commentators on FreeRepublic.com."
"Hillary really IS the misunderstood "wicked" witch."
That's just the last three days. You've been beating the "Poor Hillary, everyone hates her" drum for months.
