Love4Cheno, I totally agree about debonair. Back in high school, I was on the yearbook staff and there was once a week-long debate about whether "flamboyant" can only be used do describe gay men. We ended up using "exuberant" instead.

Posted: 10/12/05 at 9:50pmWhile I think this lawsuit is idiotic (suing because you're gay is definitely inappropriate), but to his defense, molestation at a young age has been linked to future homosexual behavior. When a person has not been through proper treatment they will frequently unconsciously re-enact the trauma. Females will often do it by becoming promiscuous and choosing to be with particularly dangerous/abusive men, and males will often engage in homosexual sex. Obviously most gay men were not victims of abuse, but sexual abuse survivors have higher rates of homosexuality.

Being molested does not make someone gay. That's BS. I can see where it might makes someone be promiscuous because it screws up their sense of self worth, etc, but it doesn't make someone gay or straight. Doesn't it make more sense that the priests often choose a gay kid?? That seems to be more the case than not.
I hope this bastard's lawsuit is laughed out of court. It is deeply offensive, meritless, self-loathing, and destructive.

Thanks for asking for the link, Plum, because this little tidbit of info is ALWAYS tossed out there and no one seems to be able to provide backup for it (unless it comes from a Focus on the Family study).
I know three - count 'em! Three! - men who were abused by other males as children and only one of them is gay.
And, let me tell you, having known him as a child, it ain't no surprise.
