Yes, we have three dogs, a house (which we have almost finished remodelling), a garden, a pick-up truck and a Subuaru.
...and the neighbors love us.

Hey Windy - I'm out in Cali in pretty much the same situation - just call me June 'don't be too hard on the beaver' Cleaver.
I didn't think you were into beavers, DG...

you guys are awesome! I wish I had a boyfriend...but my damn career keeps getting in the way (that and I'm a pain in the a$$ which I readily admit!) CONGRATS To both of you! now you can come to ny to get married! :-P
So...according to the Advocate, it is the city which would need to file an appeal in order to keep this ruling from going into effect. Write Bloomberg and tell him enough is enough!
Theres a write up in the nytimes about it

Now my girlfriend doesn't have to give up her Broadway career and move to Massachusetts to marry me! Not that we were planning on getting married...and not that she has a career on Broadway...but still. Yay! I could move to New York and marry her, if I so desired to.
You know, I always wondered...if a lesbian and a gay man get married, is that still gay marriage? And on that note, Beaverhausen, will you marry me?

Oh joy! Too bad all the couples can't have kids of their own!
I went to the White Plains federal court house for a field trip today; Jeanine Pirro was sitting in on a case with us, and we got to meet her! She's very nice and beautiful.
Sorry, I just figured this was a place to post that.
"Oh joy! Too bad all the couples can't have kids of their own!"
I don't think I follow. Care to elaborate?
I am joining in on the celebration, but I do feel bad that the newly weds will not be able to have their own kids, like from both of their genes.
Adam--in general, I suppose you're right, but people's first comment about gay/lesbian couples is always "such a pity they can't have kids", and it's just not true, so when you made your comment, some of our hackles were raised. But they're down, now.
P.S.--My BF's sister volunteered her eggs to mix with my swimmers for in-vitro to be carried by someone else (Jennifer Coolidge, I hope--she hasn't returned my calls, though....) so that would be close, right?
Even as a straight chica, this is the issue I care most deeply about. People are frickin people, no?
W0000000000000T! One step closer to equality! No more "liberty and justice for all"...straight white people. Our world IS turning in the right direction!
Well, Curtain, the world is so unbelievably, overwhelmingly f****d up right now, I'm hesitate to say we're turning anywhere good, but the occasional bright moment IS delightful.
Wait, it's NOT a pity that couples can't have their own kids? Isn't it the most beautiful and miraculous thing to create a new life from a man and a woman that love eachother--and it's their own being they created? O well....
"Our world IS turning in the right direction!" ...LOL..WOW. JUST WOW.
I knew when I wrote that it was a little silly. I'm just an optimist/idealist...With how f*cked up the world is, even this step unfortunately is a big one. *insert blush face here*.
oh, and it is kinda sad that homosexual couples can't have biological children, but that's no grounds for saying theyu shouldntget married. (Ive often heard it used as one). Does that mean heterosexual couples who don't plan on having kids shouldn't get married? *Sigh the world today*. This is a nice glimmer of hope though. :--)
