re: National democratic Convention

Of course.

Bill can give a speech better than any politician alive today!

He really does have more charisma than anyone I know. I respect him...

re: National democratic Convention

Bingo guys! Bill Clinton's biggest strength was...and still is...his ability to connect with people. -Average Joes and Janes, younger voters, so-called disenfranchised people...whoever... feel like he speaks their language. Many folks have been able to forgive him for his well publicized indiscretions because he's just so darn likable.

Franklin Roosevelt was the Great Communicator of the 1930s and 1940s, Ronald Reagan was the Great Communicator of the 1980s, and Bill Clinton held the title in the 1990s. These three ex-Presidents were able to connect with the citizens and were all popular enough to be elected for multiple terms.

And girlfriend looks fierce, too. I can only hope I look remotely that good -- and I'll never sound that good -- when I'm 60.

I think Sam Cooke would have approved of her "A Change Is Gonna Come."

re: National democratic Convention

By the way as a Bostonian..i apologize for our Mayor Mumbles Menino if you could not understand him!! I was watching his opening statements and thought...dear god now the US is going to think that is how we all talk. We do have "the accent" but not with all the marbles in our mouth. haha he is a nice guy though.

The rythyms of his speech. I actually thought of the Gettysberg Address. The speech writers deserve BIG $$ for this effort!

re: National democratic Convention

Ironic how FOX NEWS isn't showing Kennedy's speech. They didn't show Gore's speech last night either.

re: National democratic Convention

Interesting, and sad, that there is zero network coverage tonight. At ten p.m. we get "The Amazing Race." Ain't it pitiful that the truly "amazing race" of 2004 isn't worthy of NBC, ABC, or CBS?

re: National democratic Convention

I plan to watch the Republicans, CK. I think any convention held in NY, days before the anniversary of 911, is history. Stepping back from my own partisan POV, I want to see the approach--and I can't help but see the power of this gathering in NYC, and no doubt the resistance/opposition outside. It's a moment in American history, and I hope it's well covered. Hey, we got Fox, right?

ok, who's the drag queen in the red pantsuit with the voice deeper than harvey who's just dying to introduce his/her partner for a shaiman close-up?

re: national democratic convention

ok, from what i've seen, the most effective speaker thus far (other than bubba who could charm the pants off andrea dworkin) was the 12 year old girl with the bozo hair calling for slick dick to get a "time-out." it's just me, but i was hoping somebody'd tell her to "go f*** herself," but that's just me.
