Posted: 3/8/06 at 12:11pmIt makes me think of Dr Pepper. I need to find some - I am in Calif. and have never seen it here. I especially love the Lifetime movie ad in the lower left hand corner.

cheezedoodle, I am quite impressed every time I see someone meticulous enough to know the proper trademarked way to write Dr Pepper -- without the period.

Pepsi Blue...was it really blue and tasted like blue snowcones, sorta? I can't remember, because I generally don't like "blue" flavored things (including the snowcones!)
Remember Zima?
It was kind of gross.

Zima is horrid. (was? do they still make it?)
Cheerwine is cherry non-cola. I am not that fond, but if you go to North Carolina pick it up.
I prefer where this thread has gone, it is one of those reason I am not opposed to threadjacks.

Posted: 3/8/06 at 1:40pmOhh cheeze, that sounds yummy. I will have to try that. Squeezing a wedge of lime into the ginger/vanilla concotion is good too. Cuts the "sweetness' (I don't like very sweet drinks).

Just because, if anyone isn't familiar with Mead, it's the traditional and oft-referenced 'nectar of the gods' - and for those who have been lucky enough to actually have some, it's obvious why.
"Mead is the oldest art of fermentation.Consumed by all from kings to peasants mead has gained a reputation as a giver of life, wisdom, courage and strength down through the ages.
The term "honeymoon" has been associated with drinking mead during the month long celebration following a wedding in pagan times. In addition to the health giving properties of honey; mead was thought by the Romans to lengthen life and posses unique healing qualities. The ancient Nordic people considered the drinking of mead as a most important aspect of daily life. Legends of great mead halls, feasts and celebrations abound in the cultural histories of present day countries of this area.
It is the bees tireless search for nectar from thousands of blossoms that creates the honey in each bottle of mead. 100% natural honey is diluted with rainwater or berry juice which adds further dimention and complexity. Special yeast cultures are added in this traditional and medieval style of Mead. A fermentation and slow ageing process in European oak barrels occurs for up to four years before bottling."

"I'm not going to belabor the point other than to say that I think your 'blaming the victim' a la The Accused analogy here is *way* off the mark."
It's way off the mark if you're only talking about the comments made on her column. I was not speaking exlusively of that (nor exclusively or Corine). Shots are taken at her in any thread regardless of topic based on a number of subjects with regards to her personal life and other events not directly related to her column at all. And usually, they are completely unprovoked. You'll read a thread regarding Shoshana in Wicked and suddenly there is a *inset-obvious-member-name-here* stab at Corine out of the blue. And then other members just join in with their shots at Corine and she hasn't even posted in the damn thread that had nothing to do with her. And if anyone says anything about it other than Corine, then they are slammed as well for ruining everyone's "fun" and even go so far as to infer that she asks for it. HUH??? And Corine is not the only one treated this way, she was just one example. That is what I meant by The Accused reference.
All posters are not equal. Which is why some get away with breaking the rules repeatedly and others do not.
Luscious - "My intention is not to demean or belittle anyone."
And that is exactly the intention of others on the board, unfortunately.
And by the way....I am the goddess Fallopia. And don't ever forget it. Someone pour me a Malibu and Coke.
