re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

These are the shows I need to see before leaving NYC:

12 Angry Men
Dessa Rose
Avenue Q
Julius Ceasar
700 Sundays
Light In The Piazza
Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?
The Pillowman
A Streetcar Named Desire

It's gonna be a tight fit but I THINK I can do it.
Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

Howdy stranger.
Glad you're having a good time in Manhattan.

I'm having a wonderful time, especially now the weather has picked up. Trying not to think about the fact I only have 10 days left.........

Awww!! You're not allowed to leave. I'd say put Avenue Q and Streetcar at the top of your list.

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

I am absolutely not leaving NYC without seeing Streetcar. Or Q. Saw Twelve Angry Men and Light In The Piazza today. Opening night of Virginia Woolf tomorrow.............

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Listen Pops - I don't want to rain on your parade or anything, but neither do I want you having to go cold turkey next week. So I decided to introduce some words back into your vocabulary - just to ease you in gently. See if you can work a couple of them into a sentence..Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding, Parkinson, Six O'Clock News, Corrie, Eastenders, Tony Blair, Heinz Soup. I know this is hard, mate, but we're all here to support you.

So Woolf has opened to almost unanimous raves and rightly so. It was a wonderful evening. The party was very cool too. The drinks were mighty strong, as bwaysinger will attest to as he saw me afterwards and I was tipsy, to say the least.

Going to see if first preview of Pillowman is on tkts later......

Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you. Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.

Well you should have arrived at Luxia earlier yesterday, Jaily. You only have yourself to blame......

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Boobsy, it was beautiful but boring. I loved loved loved the music and the songs and the singing, but I didn't care two hoots for the story or the characters.

re: new york welcomes popcultureboy!

Please don't let me put you off, Boobs. I enjoyed it but I didn't LOVE it. But it was an early preview and things could be very different by the time they open. The main performances are all wonderful too, but the ensemble and minor players have so very very little to do.
