It may be me but I think Nip/Tuck is going over the edge into self parody.
Anyone else feel the same?
Yeah- this week's episode was definitely different. Donna Mills looked great though! Sharon Gless did a great job as usual.
I am not enjoying the whole Eden story line. Her character has no real flow. Sharon Gless is fabulous. Last weeks CAA agent scene was just a bit too much.
This season's a whole lot better than last.
I also thought they would go somewhere real creative and thought provoking with the whole Chrystal Meth storyline.. but they have sort of let it take a back seat.
What is Matt doing now?
I think this is two weeks where they haven't even mentioned him.
I actually liked last night's episode a lot better than most of the other episodes this eason.
In all seriousness- when hasn't it gone off the deep end? the series premiere ended with them feeding a pedophile to Alligators in the everglades, The Carver turned out to be the transexual life coach AND her eunich brother. Julia divorces Sean, dates a little person, goes gay, then gets together with Christian while her partner's daughter is poisoning her.
Granted I love the show,, but it has never been grounded in reality.
Last I checked, Ava more wasn't the Carver.
"In all seriousness- when hasn't it gone off the deep end?"
Exactly. This show has always been way over the top. That's what makes it so much fun!
The Carver turned out to be the transexual life coach AND her eunich brother
No, it was the cop and her eunich brother. Ava was long gone by then. They should bring her back.

That's true, but there are varying levels of insanity with this show. It's always been edgy, bordering on campy, and a little silly - but this season takes the cake, IMO. The whole doctors playing themselves on the TV show started the ball rolling in that direction. I missed last night's episode, and it sounds like I missed a good one.
I agree that this show has always been campy and has gone over the deep end this season. But, if you have been a fan from the beginning, that's the way it has always been. Granted, this season is even way too over the top for me, and it's making me crazy how they keep DROPPING storylines. Is Julia alive? What happened to Eden's mother (can't think of her name) and Eden going to school? Does she go to school anymore? Annie, that was borderline bulimic and getting in trouble in school? The writers think of a decent storyline, then are dropping it- this hasn't been the case in past seasons. I do love Sharon Gless....so Alex Forrester in that last scene this week. I guess I'm just addicted to the show- as campy as it gets, I still watch it!!!!

Right, that's what I mean. I've been a fan of this show from Day 1, and have watched it regularly since then. But the plot holes are becoming progressively worse.
Them dropping story lines like crazy has nothing to do with being over the top and the general style of the show. There have been to many holes and inconsistencies this year. Maybe it is a result of the writers strike? Perhaps they were in a big hurry to get the episodes in the can.
My mistake about the Ava thing...it was the cop....
Myself and another Nip/Tuck fanatic in my office had that one wrong. Thanks for clarifying!
Nip/Tuck has always been OTT, but it has definitely jumped the shark...its just ridiculous now.
I agree BB. And also not as much male nudity as before.
"And also not as much male nudity as before."
I don't really mind. Julian ain't as hot as he used to be.
Dylan, on the other hand...
I mind. But not because of Julian.
I don't know why Ryan's ever went really gay.
He's always had the show on the borderline.
I think that Julian has improved with age. I always like to see him naked...
The show's always been over the top and one reason I love it. This season is just so all over the place, that it's starting to annoy me. I mean what was the point in bringing Gina back for 2 episodes just to have her go and then have this little internal dilemma with Christian and Wilbur......was it just because they realized people were questioning what happened to wilbur and the writers thought they better put him in. It was just strange to me. Matt and Julia haven't been on in a few weeks. The whole Eden vs Julia was looking to be a major storyline, but now she's off with john Scnheider and Kimber. It gets confusing.
And oh yeah, I used to think Julian was the hot one. He still is, but Dylan, I think, is aging better.

Christian isn't as hot this season as he used to be. I mean, he's still beautiful, but part of his charm was his playboy attitude. He seems like more of an asshat this season, in a different way than he used to be.
speaking of going off the deep end..... anyone watching???
