This just looks dreadful, but then, it is Aronofsky, so I don't know what I was expecting. It'll suck.

Yeah, Aronofsky is one of my favorites, from his generation of directors (Fincher, Aronofsky, O'Russell, Soderbergh, Tarantino, Van Sant, etc), he is in my top two favorites. I agree the fact it's a big budget studio movie spelled trouble from the beginning; last time he worked in the studio system, he made the dreadful THE FOUNTAIN.

Aronofsky has given us some great films, but he's also given us crappy (yet undeniably ambitious) ones like THE FOUNTAIN. I really hope NOAH falls into the former category. Because when he's good, he's really fVcking good. I have no problem saying BLACK SWAN is one of my favorite films of the last twenty years.

Since Requiem for a Dream, Arenofsky is a genius in my book, flops or not.

This NOAH thing just looks like warmed over Ridley Scott.

Totally. And since Scott is working on Exodus right now (Christian Bale as Moses? Seriously?) ... it will definitely seem like Ridley Scott's: The Lord of the Bible.

That's exactly what I said to my coworkers when we watched it, Roscoe, but I think a good deal more of Aronofsky than you do, so I'm reserving judgment.

Jennifer Connelly's mother is Jewish and Logan Lerman is 100% Jewish, so surely they can play Old Testament characters.

P.S., to compare these characters to "Middle Easterners" as you know them today is historically inaccurate.
