I just learned my father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. I don't know where this will lead, but what I've just read about it is not good. Just a heads-up to you guys if I seem out of sorts for a while. Trying to process this information.
Mister Matt, My dad was diagnosed with it three years ago. He is still kicking. He had laser treatments something on line they said was what the use for stage four. It seems now however they will use it on stage one with remarkable results. He refused chemo because it made him very ill.
Hope your dad can do both. It is a hard fight but it is not all bleak. Keep strong!
So sorry to hear about this matt. Try to stay strong.

Matt there are no words so I will not try! Thinking of you.
I will keep him in my prayers.I will also light a candle for him Sunday
My wife calls them magic candles as they have an uncanny ability of working sometime. A friend of hers just got let go & the company treated her like ****. Her husband has been out of work for over a year & she has 2 1 year old twins . She was really in a rough patch
Today she got a much better package & may also be landing a 4 month temp job. I lit a candle for her last Sunday.
So, so sorry!
But remember: statistics are just statistics.
Will be thinking of you both.
^ So very true. I have a friend who has been living with esophageal cancer for five years. At present, he's doing extremely well. Hope for the best. You and yours will be in my thoughts.
Sorry to hear this.
Sending good energy his way!
And it figures someone believes in magic candles...
Nice of you to bring sarcasm into this
I guess faith offends you but that is not a big surprise.
No.
What offends me is you thinking you got someone a job by lighting a candle for her.
mrrrrow! hsssss!
anyways, i hope everything works out for your family. cancer is freakin scary.
Freakin scary indeed. My thoughts are with you and your family!
Adding my support, good thoughts, best wishes, prayers and all good karma for you and your family.

Matt - I'm so sorry to hear this. If it helps, I do know the husband of a friend who was diagnosed four years ago. He's still as active and cantankerous as he ever was. His treatment wasn't pleasant, but it seems to have done the job. Wishing you and your family all the best!

The stories you've told in the past Matt have always made me wonder how hard it must be for a great guy like your dad to end up with a no-goodnik such as you for a son. TRY to be a good son and pitch in, would ya, your dad deserves it. I'll be lighting one of my farts later to motivate you.
You're in my thoughts, Matt. I"m so sorry to hear this! Wishing you, your father, and family the very best.

I'm so sorry, Matt. Wishing the best for your dad and your family.
Matt, my boss was diagnosed with something similar over 5 years ago, and after aggressive surgery, and some reconstruction, he is living an active, full and health life. The treatment was rough but he got through it, and other than having a few issues with food limitations, he is doing well. Hang in there. Good thoughts to you and your family.
I'm sorry to hear this, Matt dear. Lots of good outcomes posted here ! Keeping ypu in my thoughts.
Aw, Matt, I am so sorry. Your father will be in my prayers. *HUGS*
