When Vonn fell on the course and Mancuso was forced to stop, you could see Mancuso ski over to where Vonn was, and you could see Mancuso talking to her. A reporter later asked Mancuso about it, and Mancuso said she asked Lindsey if she was OK.
Later, Vonn was asked about it and if Mancuso had said anything to her (or it may have been what did Mancuso say). Anyhow, Vonn avoided the question altogether and started talking about something else. She couldn't even acknowledge that Mancuso might have asked about her wellbeing. IMO, she was just trying to demonize Mancuso as the villain in their rivalry, in a very passive aggressive way.

Dottie - They have not shown all the skating medalists. No pairs whatsoever, no men's bronze medalist, no ladies silver medalist, and I don't think they showed the dance bronze medalists. Either some of them have already gone home, or NBC just edited them out.
FYI, when the ladies final was shown the other day, NBC showed the final standings, 1st place through 5th, and then Rachel who was 7th. I was wondering who was in 6th place. I did some research and discovered that the 6th place finalist was the gal from Finland. But NBC never showed her long program. In fact, there were 2 skaters who beat Rachel in the long program, the Finnish gal and a skater from Japan. Neither of their long programs were shown. But because their LPs were rated higher than Rachel's, that pushed Rachel down from 5th place to 7th.
Mancuso-Vonn
Davis-Crawford
In my own mind.
sabrelady- Well I hope their beer prices are still sound.
I saw Joannie, the silver medalist ice dancers, Pluschenko, and Evan in a tuxedo skating to Gershwin. Personally if I were Evan and was sure of it to give Sochi a shot I would have saved the tuxedo for a James Bond routine in front of the Russians.
Slovakia and Finland are tied up at 3-3 with Finland getting two un-answered goals. The Fins woke up after the third goal by the Slovaks was done short-handed.
EDIT: Finland wins bronze 5-3!
Congrats to Teemu Selanne. 3 medals in 3 Olympics, this likely his last.

Thanks, LaurenB, I was actually able to catch the remaining exhibition skating performances this morning as I was up early.
And what was up with the over the top compliments of Yvgeny Plushenko from Scott Hamilton and Sandra Bezic last night?! If there was one exhibition program that should not have been aired last night it was his, just based on his poor sportsmanship post silver medal win.
Loved that kid Nam Nguyen at the figure skating exhibition gala. Such personality! You'd better watch out Patrick Chan, this kid is going to take your Canadian champion crown.
Despite visits by high-profile straight people (Stephen Colbert, Canadian gold medalist Jon Montgomery), Vancouver's Pride House did not attract (openly, anyway) many gay Olympic athletes.
Toronto Star: No giant leap for gays at the games
Last Wednesday evening, Canada's gold medallist in skeleton, Jon Montgomery, who is straight, paid Pride House Whistler a surprise visit. He placed his gold medal around the neck of the pavilion's popular sculpture of a naked male hockey player, posing with it for photos.
Neocon mock-pundit Stephen Colbert even filmed a segment for The Colbert Report at Pride House as part of his highly manic Olympic coverage ("Vancouverage"), though it wasn't ultimately aired.
Pride House has hoped both Weir – who has preferred not to make statements about his sexuality – and gay athletes alike might drop by. Openly gay athletes at the 2010 Winter Olympics have included gold medallists such as Dutch speed skater Ireen Wüst and Sarah Vaillancourt of the Canadian women's hockey team.

I'm very disappointed the way NBC aired the Exhibition. And I also made the mistake of doing a Google search looking for images of the 1948 Bobsled Gold medal winners and knew 10 minutes before their run that the USA won the Gold! I felt like I was in a time warp.

Tinfoil...The Terrorizing Terminator
It seemed that my phone rang during most of exhibition skates so I missed most of them. I was too tired to watch the rebroadcast. I didn't know CNBC was airing the ones that NBC didn't show. I will check in on the Hockey game. It is my least favorite of all of the sports.
...I fell asleep last night and missed many of the exhibition performances. Bummer! I just couldn't keep my eyes open.
uncageg, I feel the same way you do about the coverage.
And, tonight, the Closing Ceremony. I shall be watching!
And Canada beats the USA in overtime to win the hockey gold! (Thank ye gods for that, else we'd be hearing about "miracles on ice" for another 30 years.)
Canada finishes with 14 gold (most), 7 silver, 5 bronze, 26 total (3rd most).
I didn't watch the whole game. I flipped back and forth. The US team did not look happy. Yeah, they lost but they got a silver medal. This whole game felt more like the final Stanley Cup game than the Olympics. I saw the Canadian team taking a picture on the ice surrounded by men in suites. Just had a corportate feel. This is one of the reasons I don't think professional athletes should be allowed to compete. There are, I am sure, good hockey and tennis players out there who aren't professional, don't make a lot of money and without endorsements who would love a chance to compete in the Olympics.

Congrats, Canada
I would have said a USA Gold would be an upset and a surprise but it would never in a million years touch 1980.
No way the Olympics drops the pros, it is the best PR that the game gets. The only reason why it could possibly not continue in Sochi would be if teams are too worried about player health and also the long-waiting period the non-Olympians have. Home of Ovechkin and Malkin being the host country and no hockey? Surely you jest.
Even if we left it to the 'amateurs' you would still have a majority of players both in North America and Europe who are under contract with NHL teams but not professionals yet.
Honestly I was not expecting Team USA to take it well. They lost in overtime when it seemed all the momentum shifted back to their side when Parise scored and minutes later have to be out there accepting second place in enemy territory. Similar scenario for the women's hockey team in 2002 and most had a sour face or crying.
And NBC goes back to camera mugging Sidney Crosby against his will. They make me hate him, I swear.
All I will say is, Ryan Miller: Outstanding Player of the Tournament
I know they won't drop the pros, it just takes something away from it for me. Even though a lot of the other athletes make a lot of money outside of the Olympics, these guys are on teams, with contracts, making millions. It just all had a corporate feel to me and after 2 weeks of great competition, after this game, that "Olympic Spirit" felt lost, or just put aside. Just my opinion.
canmark, our local news used "miracle on ice" 2 or three times during evening news sports segment while talking about the hockey match. Since they don't change their script from the evening news to the late news, I am sure I will hear it 3 more times tonight, at least!
LOL Stock. I actually have a Six Degrees of Separation scenario with a bunch of the Devils players on Team USA- and I am not afraid to use it.
UGH, as a hockey fan I am predisposed to hating hockey coverage by the mainstream media/sports media and Miracle on Ice is totally lazy. Today was 50th anniversary of the US beating Canada in the Olympics for gold. 1980 the US beat the Soviets in a game that did not even guarantee a medal, not to mention was tapped for prime time.
I found the luger story to be trying to hard for a tear. The music cheesed it up. A story like that needs no extra emotional effect.
