When you think about it, who but Jack Nicholson to announce one of the biggest upsets in Oscar history

I knew something was up when he arched his eyebrow after opening the envelope. Ah Jack always the center of attention

OK I stand by my opinion that BROKEBACK is not a good film. It does not matter if it won 90 Oscars or none; will it change homophobia in Hollywood? No. Will it make America more tolerant? No. The only way to improve our country is to improve ourselves.

Of the show:

1. Dolly needs to eat and stop with the facial surgery
2. She and Felicity wuz robbed. No one saw the film.
3. Ryan Philippe needs to come out :)
4. Reese has still not topped her perf in ELECTION. When she looks like an adult I will treat her like an adult.
5. What was that on Charlize's shoulder?? She looks like a handful.
6. Matt Dillon; fi-i-i-i-i-iine and dandy
7. The winners for PENGUIN should give the award back. Annoying and did not thank Morgan Freeman
8. Will Smith; come out, come out.
9. Terrence Howard, a talent to watch
10. Keira Knightley, diva in training. Take some career advice from Dame Judi to avoid bad movie choices
11. Jake is still a crappy actor
12. Poor Lauren Bacall
13. Jon Stewart bombed big time; Jon, this was the Oscars, not a college frat crowd.

Meryl and Lily should cohost next year.

They were constantly pushing people to see pictures in a theater on a big screen. When was the last time any of these people were in a theater ? The screens are the size of postage stamps in the multiplex's

George Lucas has said the days of the blockbuster are over as the studios cannot make their money back on them. He further states future movies will cost $ 20 million to produce. I doubt the cost will ever be that low but look for a major retrenchment & big blockbusters being few & far between

I did feel sorry for Lauren. No idea what was wrong

The Go Fug Yourself girls are doing fashion wrap-up with Joan and Melissa Rivers on TV Guide Channel.

I love these girls!

It was funny, but I disagree with nearly every point. re: OSCAR THREAD

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

Sorry kid but I have seen the Oscars for 30 years, and I bet I am right.

You think we are going to see Jake in Macbeth when he is older? Not. Can someone say 'whatever happened to Wes Bentley?'

Being older does not make you right.
I am open for disagreement, but do not call me "kid."

When it comes to the Oscars being older is a help. :)

And re 'kid', lighten up. Life is short. The Oscars are long.

I have no issue with your comments. Why are you acting like a jerk?

I was basically kidding.

If you continue to act like a jerk to me, however I will much less light.

It seems you may need to lighten up a bit as well.

That list says it all

You could have a list of actors who either never won or were never nominated. One reason for honorary oscars are the academy may be embarrassed certain people never won ( for one reason or another ) & realizes we have to give them an award as it is ridiculous for said person not to have one

Homophobic PMs are not appreciated, ShErRy. And neither is your wanton and indulgent use of capital letters.

Excellent post about why you liked BBM Blue Wizard. May I add that we gays grew up on a steady diet of heterosexual romances, and although we are gay, we often got wound up in the romance. I think the same thing happened to many straight people with BBM. I really think this is why the film is so important and although Crash was a good film, it just wasn't as landmark of a film as BBM. Its silly to think one film could make a huge difference with gays, but Ive always believed its all about taking steps, and I believe this was a step in the right direction.

Great editorial in local NY paper a few days ago kind of putting George Clooneys speech about how Hollywood was the pioneer in various areas in proper prospective

Will watch Crash this weekend so we can than decide, in our opinion, if we likes Crash better than Brokeback
